Story & Lesson Highlights with Timothy Pratt

Timothy Pratt shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Timothy , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My baby boy. I have an 8 month old son & every since he’s been born I feel like my life has reset like I really have something to live for and someone to continue my legacy once I’m gone & I’m going to do whatever it takes to give him the life I never had.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Timothy Pratt I’m 25 years old and I’m from the Soufside , Clayton County , Jonesboro , Georgia to be exact. My main focus right now is music you can find me on all streaming platforms. Music has been my passion since grade school but I also have other aspirations. My main focus is blowing up my hometown and putting Clayton County (Jonesboro, Ga) on the map & making it a popular city like Atlanta. Clayco has produced a couple stars in the industry like Derez Deshon who’s from Rex, Georgia & Waka Flocka who’s not originally from Clayco but he claims Riverdale. Also I am a big advocate for the youth & for mental health awareness. I would love to have my own congregation someday & turn it into a school/church. My Brand , 5StarGlobalLivin(5GL) is basically a luxury lifestyle theme based brand that I want to turn into a music label in the future. Nothing is set and stone yet but you can say that I’m an aspiring Entrepreneur.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with God shaped how I see me self tremendously. I had a spiritual awakening in 2020 & late 2022. 2020-2022 was a very rough time for me events throughout this time led to me being admitted into a mental hospital where I spent 7 days. The 2nd day I was in there , me & a group of patients were sitting in the lobby area getting ready to do bible study & as we were waiting Marvin Sapp, “Never Would of Made It” , came on and I immediately broke down in tears, not no regular boohoo tears , I literally broke down in the middle of the lobby & I could barely breathe. It was so intense it felt like my chest was caving in & I was having a panic attack n breaking down crying at the same time. It was more of an outer body experience because as I was crying I felt weak in the knees & I dropped to the floor & for a while I couldn’t even stand up & suddenly out of nowhere it’s like I heard a voice in my head say get up & I rose back to my feet and started to wipe my face & started to control my breathing and calmed down. That experience alone strengthened my relationship with God and has shaped me into the man I’ve grown to become today.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Self Doubt & feeling like I’m not good enough has held me back a lot throughout my journey and has pivoted me from trying & doing certain things that could have been a good benefit in my life.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say family & my relationship with god matters the most to me. I am a very family orientate person , one of my goals n dreams is to have my whole family under one household in a huge mansion or we all own a block & we all are neighbors & not just my intermediate family and my lineage family also includes close friends , the ones I consider my brothers & anyways that has came in my life & been loyal to me & had my best interest at heart. Also I’m not religious but I am very spiritual but that’s does stop me from reading the Bible & praying. The ones who really know me & have been around me enough will tell you they’ve walked in on me or seen me praying or reading my bible on multiple occasions.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left to live I would immediately stop procrastinating, stop being afraid to live , n remove self doubt.
