Story & Lesson Highlights with Unnati Topiwala of Alpharetta

Unnati Topiwala shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Unnati, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely, I’d hire myself. I’m dedicated, creative, and genuinely passionate about marketing. I approach every project with honesty, fresh ideas, and a determined mindset. Whether it’s building brands, crafting campaigns, or going the extra mile for clients, I’m all in. I aim to exceed expectations, and have fun doing it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Unnati Topiwala, founder of AyTop Marketing, a full-service marketing and branding agency dedicated to helping businesses stand out and grow their brand equity. With a passion for creativity and strategy, I specialize in crafting strong brand identities, impactful digital campaigns, and meaningful connections that drive results. At AyTop Marketing, we believe in forward-thinking, personalized service, and making exceptional efforts to make every brand shine.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Growing up in a traditional Indian household, I was often taught to be a rule follower and not to challenge boundaries. As a result, I was naturally a people-pleaser and hesitant to step outside of expectations. For a long time, I believed staying within the lines and avoiding risk was the safest path. However, as I grew older and began building my career and business, I realized true growth comes from stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging the status quo. Taking risks, testing boundaries, and thinking creatively are what set me apart from others and have been instrumental in the success of my business. I’ve learned that leadership and innovation require courage, and embracing that philosophy has allowed me to thrive both personally and professionally.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there have been many moments when I felt like giving up. Building a business is challenging, and it’s natural to feel overwhelmed or unsure at times. However, I remind myself of the reason I started this journey in the first place: my children. Thinking about the example I want to set for them and the future I’m creating motivate me to push through challenges. Those moments of doubt become opportunities to grow, learn, and increase resilience.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would say what really matters to me is family, integrity, and making a meaningful impact. I care deeply about the people around me, staying true to my values, and putting my heart into everything I do — whether it’s building my business, supporting loved ones, or pursuing personal growth. They would describe me as someone who is loyal, driven, and passionate about creating positive change.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
People would likely say I was someone who inspired and uplifted those around me. They may remember me as dedicated, kind, and driven — someone who worked tirelessly to create a meaningful life and build a successful business, while always putting my core family, both blood and those I’ve chosen, first. Above all, they would say I lived with purpose and courage, approaching every challenge with determination and a willingness to go above and beyond for the people and causes I cared about most.
