Tatyanna Freeman shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Tatyanna, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Music. When I’m creating, listening, or even just immersing myself in sound, I completely lose track of time. It’s both a way to escape and a way to reconnect—with myself, my emotions, and my creativity. Music allows me to feel fully present while also finding clarity and inspiration within.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Currently, I’m in the early stages of building Mavoi Media, developing a free portfolio on Instagram to define the brand’s vision and style. The name Mavoi means “gateway,” reflecting my goal of creating a portal into emotional storytelling and visuals that highlight authenticity and human connection.
What makes Mavoi Media unique is its focus on people and stories over branding or marketing, the work itself takes center stage. Even in these early stages, it represents the foundation of a larger creative platform I’m building to showcase real, resonant, and meaningful narratives.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think the bonds between people are broken when trust, empathy, or communication is lost. Misunderstandings, dishonesty, or neglect can create distance, even in the closest relationships. What restores those bonds is vulnerability and presence—truly listening, being honest, and showing up for someone without judgment. Small gestures of care and consistent effort can rebuild connection over time, and sometimes, just holding space for someone and acknowledging their experience can reopen a door that felt closed.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience, perspective, and empathy in ways that success never could. When things are hard, you’re forced to confront your limits, your fears, and what truly matters. You learn patience, humility, and the value of small, authentic connections. Success can feel rewarding, but suffering shapes your character and teaches you how to navigate life with depth and compassion.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building a platform that captures and preserves people’s dreams, exploring both their personal meaning and the universal threads that connect us. It’s a long-term project that blends storytelling, psychology, and creativity, and I’m dedicated to it no matter how long it takes because I believe dreams hold profound insight into who we are and how we relate to the world.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that people’s inner worlds are far richer and more complex than they often reveal. Most people only show a small portion of themselves—their actions, words, or what they share publicly—but beneath the surface, everyone carries layers of thought, emotion, history, and perspective that shape how they move through the world.
Recognizing this complexity has taught me empathy and patience, and it reminds me to approach others with curiosity rather than judgment. It’s also why I’m drawn to storytelling and projects that give people space to express themselves fully, because there’s so much value in seeing and honoring the parts of people that aren’t immediately visible.
