Community Highlights: Meet Kyle Footman of Footman Motorsports

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Footman. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Tallahassee native Kyle Footman is a thriving young professional. At 24-year-old Footman balances being a licensed Realtor, car dealership owner, and a full-time student. In high school, Footman decided once he graduated, he would pursue a career in real estate because he had no desire to attend college due to a lack of exposure. However, he quickly had a realization that he should attend college to break a generational curse. No male on either side of his family graduated from college, so Footman made it his mission and still pursued real estate.

At 19 years old, Footman became a licensed realtor and quickly grew his business while attending Tallahassee Community College. In 2019 he broke a generational curse by becoming the first male in his family to receive a degree. After earning his Associate of Arts degree from TCC, Footman wanted to continue to raise the bar. He transferred to Florida A&M University to obtain a degree in Public Relations from the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication. While in school, Footman decided to pursue a lifelong dream of owning a car dealership. Now he owns a car dealership, actively sells real estate, and is a full-time graduating senior. After graduating from FAMU, Footman plans to open a real estate brokerage, expand his dealership and receive his Master’s degree to become an adjunct professor.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Struggles include finding direction, capital, and mental health.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My best advice is to stay in your lane and focus on your journey. In today’s society, you see everyone on social media living the life, and often times we will compare our life’s to others and that’s not ideal.

I wish I would have slowed down and enjoyed the process, not rushed it. Everything was such a blur because I was so focused on what is next not what is present.
