Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric “I AM LEGACI” Bennett.

Hi Eric, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My brother Debunair used to help plan and promote events for a promotional team called “International Flavors”. He was a big inspiration on me getting started in this business, but I got my actual start when “Espionage Ent” asked me if I wanted to sell tickets to a Halloween event they were doing in 2004. They gave me around 50 tickets and I sold all of them in about a week. This is with no social media, you actually had to make phone calls, lol. From that moment on, I knew I was really good at this and I’ve been doing it ever since. Today you can catch me doing events in Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, Cincinnati that’s just in the USA. Outside of the USA, I do trips and events in Dubai, Toronto, St Maarten, Jamaica and Barbados…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always some bumps in the road. I always say the promotions industry is like a game you’re playing and you can win or lose. 9 out of 10 times, I win though! Some of the struggles are you never know what going to happen in life for example, a pandemic. As an event planner, I live by these words…. “The Show Must Go On”, but in certain cases that can’t happen.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well, I’m in the event planning/promotions industry. I plan so many events:/trips and do a lot of marketing and promotions for these events… Everyone knows the name “I AM LEGACI”. They know if they see that name or logo on an event description or flyer that they’re going to get quality. I’m mostly known for the majority of my events being on boats or yachts. I’m most proud of an annual trip to Dubai I have going on called “The Dubai Experience” established in 2018. It’s an amazing trip, just trying to give everyone The Dubai Experience. I think what sets me apart is I think outside the box. Many event planners think local and I think global. I feel it’s more to this World than the city you live in. So the majority of the events I do is out of town or overseas.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I read a lot of books about getting rich and changing your life. The book that got me started was “Rich Dad Poor Dad”. That book changed my life as far as having the courage to really do this event planning full time. I quit my corporate America job because of that book.
