Daily Inspiration: Meet Theresa Seyi Dina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Seyi Dina.

Hi Theresa Seyi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my fashion blog as a teenager, and it was my main creative outlet. I loved putting together outfits and taking pictures, and when my friends came over, we’d have “fashion photoshoots.” Money was tight when I was younger, so I very quickly found ways to put together outfits that looked expensive on my minimal budget.

I had to find ways to get the looks I loved for less, beat my own face, and do my own hair because that’s what I could afford. This has served me well as I’ve gotten older because I’m able to be my own glam squad. As I’ve grown, my blog and social media have grown with me to be a place where I can share my looks and how I put everything together.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When you’re an influencer or creative, you wear many hats. I’m the talent, creative director, hairstylist, makeup artist, videographer, photographer (if my sisters aren’t helping me that day), editor, etc.

There was a lot that I had to teach myself about all of those things. There’s also a lot to juggle, but I’ve always been a good multitasker. I was a triple major in college, and I graduated cum laude with two B.A.’s in Music and Theatre and a B.S. in Biology.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My 9-5 is actually in Microbiology, and I will be starting grad school this fall to get my Master’s. I balance this with my work as a style influencer, which is my main creative outlet. I create content for women who want to live their best lives and look good doing it. I share outfit ideas, try on hauls, lookbooks, dupes, hair reviews, perfume reviews, and makeup tutorials on my blog Fly Fierce Fab as well as across my social media. I create content for women who want to feel fabulous.

While I also love luxury pieces and have recently started acquiring some of the bags on my designer wishlist, what sets me apart is my ability to create bomb fully styled looks in a budget-friendly way. A lot of the outfits I’ve worn are probably between $100-$200. I believe in investing in good quality pieces, but again I understand how to work with a budget. I didn’t always have money, but baby I’ve always had taste.

For me, it’s always about creating a LOOK, not just wearing an outfit. So the pieces, the wig, the makeup, it’s all got to work together. My audience is able to relate to me as a black woman who works hard, has high aspirations, and wants to look and feel fabulous.

How do you think about happiness?
It makes me really happy when my content resonates with my audience and they let me know that it’s helped them or inspired them in some way. Also, trips to Zara make me happy. Very happy.
