Hi Damonica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved styling myself and my friends and I thought, what better way to do that than to open my own boutique? When beautiful women purchase from my site, it makes me feel like I am styling them. They trust my vision and they like what they see. I actually started my boutique in 2014, well I got my business license. Because I didn’t have the funding to purchase inventory, I quit. I kicked myself everyday for that. It wasn’t until my recent job made me have to choose between them and my daughters. I got tired of having to choose my job over my health or my children. So I decided to start over and reopen my dream. Instead of quitting because I didn’t have funding, I work my full-time job and I drive for Uber Eats to fund my business until my business pays for itself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, lol. You have to have tough skin to be an entrepreneur. Doing everything myself is hard. Not knowing all the answers is even harder. Every other day you reevaluate, is it even worth it? I’m still a small business but marketing and inventory are still some struggles that I have from time to time. But what you don’t know, you can always google it or enroll in courses pertaining to your business. Also, having a team is important. My Ambassador BRH Beauty and my daughter Wynter supports and helps with my obstacles.

Rebellious Boutique is an online Women’s clothing store for Rebel’s. I specialize in getting you out of your comfort zone. At Rebellious Boutique, we break the rules. You would shop with me because you want to look sexy, celebrating a major moment in your life, wanting to look cute for brunch with your girlfriends or just for yourself. When shopping with me, you have to wear the opposite of what you normally would wear. If you wear black, you’re going to wear white today. Long sleeves? We are going short, always wearing pants? We are going to wear a sexy dress.

What sets me apart is that I also specialize in customer service and really wanting you to be happy with coming out of your comfort zone. I have Rebel’s who would like a more in-depth of how the clothing stretches; therefore, I make personal videos showing and describing the material to make them more comfortable with purchasing. I make every purchase a personal one. What makes me proud is that I am actually a brand and learning everyday. Who would have known that I would make it this far? I’m also proud and ecstatic that my customers trust me. I want my Potential customers to know that this is my dream and I strive for your happiness with my company. I go above and beyond to make your experience a wonderful one. Also, there is an outfit for every budget. I know how it wants to be cute at an affordable price.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I’ve learned that not everything is in my control. Even though I wish it was different. Small businesses rely on carrier services to deliver our products and covid has definitely caused issues that are out of my control. Now I make sure I warn my customers that packages may take a little longer to get to them. Definitely a learning experience.
