Meet Angela Hill of Public Figure Brand in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Hill.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Angela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Public Figure Brand was birthed in Atlanta from an idea to put photo images onto T-shirts of local activists and organizers. In 2012, I had a group of friends that were organizers and as I spent time with them and ultimately ended up documenting the work that they were doing, I thought that “these people are public figures, they just don’t have a platform”. This was before Instagram was as large as it is now. I wanted to create a platform for them and since I love t-shirts and photography, I wanted to merge the two. Fast forward several years, Public Figure Brand has evolved into a clothing brand for conscious people and the avid manifester, merging affirmations and original artworks inspired by hip hop and new thought philosophies.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It depends on what day you ask me. As Public Figure Brand continues to grow and I see the potential it has to be a brand that gets people excited and inspired through its messages and art, the road starts to be less smooth. As my desire to connect Public Figure Brand to its global tribe of awe-inspired people increases, so does the increase of impatience. This is the struggle… to be patient. Depending on what day you ask, I know that all I have to do is keep creating and keep going.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Public Figure Brand – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Public Figure Brand is a clothing brand inspired by hip hop, the embodiment of inspiration, bringing awareness to the power of our words and thoughts and how they create our individual and collective realities. Public Figure Brand for conscious people and avid more manifest.

I’m most proud of Public Figure Brand being selected and featured as one of the thirty-one businesses highlighted during The Village Market, Black August campaign in honor of National Black Business Month. What sets Public Figure Brand apart from others is the artwork and the way it is used to educate and inspire people, as well as many of the shirts are hand-printed pieces of garb.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The plans for the future would include having a storefront where custom public figure brand pieces can be made on the spot. It’ll be like going to an ice cream shop… select your flavor, add your flavor and leave with it. It’s going to be delicious! I’m looking forward to the brand expanding into the hands of motivational speakers, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, organizers and all of the people that know that they are an inspiration to people around them.
