Meet Janee Paige

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janee Paige.

Hi Janee, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Most childhood experiences include a chapter with imaginary friends. As a child, I never considered myself to have imaginary friends because the things and people I would see were not imaginary. Around the age of two, I began sharing with my late mother what I was seeing and who I was talking to. Initially, she thought I was just a child being a child, but after sharing with her the names of individuals I had no way of knowing, she knew that I had a gift. A gift that would change the trajectory of my life.

My mother did not share that same gift, her understanding for my inclination for connecting with spirit allowed us to forge a deeper relationship. Over time, I noticed nobody else around me shared my gift, and naturally, I became fearful that I would soon suffer a similar fate. I immediately disregarded my gift and tucked it away. For decades I wrestled with still being able to see, feel, and hear them, but I chose to ignore them. After the loss of several close family members and friends, I knew it was time to re-establish my connection with spirit. I tapped back into my gift and have been walking in my purpose ever since.

Choosing to use my gift for professional opportunities was not my original goal. I knew I had this gift, but did not understand why or how to hone it. Once I finally figured it out, I knew I wanted to share it with others. Instead of having a grand roll-out with months of planning and strategy, I just jumped right into it. I created a website, established a social media presence, and got started. I am very thankful that I have a great support system of family and friends that have shared my business and served as referrals, allowing me to scale my business and share my gift with a larger audience.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As cliché as it sounds, anything worth having is worth fighting for. I believe that my ability to connect with spirits from a different realm is worth having because it allows me to do what I am purposed to do— help people. My gift is unique and not always understood, and that has been one of the biggest struggles that I have faced. Knowing that I would be met with judgment and apprehension caused me to doubt my abilities and not trust in myself or the gifts that I know need to be shared with the world. But also knowing that my faith is bigger than my fear, I stepped out on that faith and am walking in the purpose that I was designed for. My line of work is not something that everyone resonates with, so I have adapted to the reality of that in the most beautiful way. The road has definitely not been smooth, but being in a position to help people is one of the best feelings in the world and makes every hurdle worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
To some, I am an Intuitive Reiki Master, to others a Holistic Healer or a Medium, and I use mediumship to naturally connect with spirit guides. Personally, I hate labels. Labels place you in categories and tie you to a certain line of work when your talents and gifts transcend any one categorization. I consider myself a facilitator. Webster defines a facilitator as “someone who helps to bring about an outcome by providing indirect or unobtrusive assistance, guidance, or supervision.” I work with my clients to facilitate their healing journeys. Whatever capacity in which they are seeking healing, I am there to guide them to the best course of action.

Additionally, due to my natural ability to use mediumship to connect with spirit guides, I am uniquely qualified to not only receive messages but also coach others to one day receive them. This sets me apart from others because with patience and discipline, I have been able to coach clients who are curious and determined to not only learn and see my abilities but to tap into their own.

What matters most to you?
My family is my everything. I grew up in a family that always looked out for each other. Whether it be someone was in need, someone needed advice, to borrow something, a place to stay, or even a hug — someone was always there to step in the gap and meet that need. We were far from perfect, but our family dynamic was so strong, considerate, and helpful and those are characteristics that you do not forget. Helping people has been a part of the DNA of my family forever, and therefore, was part of my identity before I was born. Learning and gleaning from them has helped me not only walk better in my gift but to be a better human being. Over time we have lost some amazing souls along the way. I pray that with the transitions we have experienced, we keep that strong, tight-knit dynamic that we grew up with and continue to pass it on to the generations to come.
