Meet Lauren Siso of Ellemes Medical Spa in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Siso.

Lauren, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
First off, I’d like to say that I am so grateful to be able to share my story with VoyageATL Magazine.

My name is Lauren Siso and I am the founder and sole provider at Ellemes Medical Spa in Atlanta, which was opened in October 2019 near the Northside Hospital and Perimeter Mall.

Before opening Ellemes Medical Spa in 2019, I was practicing as a Licensed Esthetician and Laser Practitioner at several well known Plastic Surgeon and Dermatologist offices in the Atlanta area. I have practiced in the skincare industry for over 10 years now and have worked with patients of all skin types with countless types of skin concerns such as acne, acne scarring, rosacea, and general antiaging. I am trained in all of the newest and greatest technologies in skincare, such as skin resurfacing laser treatments and radio frequency micro needling, which have grown rapidly in popularity over the past few years. I also regularly perform popular treatments such as HydraFacials, chemical peels, and other preventative and maintenance based skin treatments.

I opened my own spa in 2019 intending to bring back the sharing of open and honest skincare education to the Atlanta area. The skincare industry has been booming over the past few years, but with that increase in popularity has come to an increase in misinformation and marketing schemes. At Ellemes Medical Spa, we put a primary focus on skin education rather than pushy sales tactics, as we want our patients to be able to make smart and educated decisions when it comes to their skin care and skin health. Skin care is truly my passion in life, and I am so blessed to able to share my passion with my patients and help them achieve their skin care goals!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning your own business comes with its own set of challenges. While I am truly passionate about skincare education and skin health, I am not so much passionate about accounting, taxes, and finance. Unfortunately, these things are very important to master when you have your own business. I am very fortunate to have a good team around me that helps advise me on finance based decisions that way I can focus my attention on what I love and do best!

Please tell us about your business.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment to date was the successful startup of Ellemes Medical Spa in October 2019; however, before that, my proudest moment was being nominated for Dermascope Magazine’s Aestheticians Choice Award for my social media presence on my Instagram account (@esty_lauren).

Over the past few years, I have utilized social media platforms, particularly Instagram and YouTube, to help spread skincare education to my followers. If it were not for my large support system on social media, I don’t think I would have had the courage to start up my practice as soon as I did. For that, I am extremely grateful!
