Meet Olivia Cantrell of Impulse Salon in East Cobb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Cantrell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Olivia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since 1999, Impulse Salon has provided the highest standard of hair care in a comfortable, relaxed, atmosphere. After all, you spend as much time with your hairdresser as you do anyone else! We provide visionary hair artistry through extensive education and training. We are affiliated with the SoHo Academy based in New York. Our staff travels all over the U.S. throughout the year for advanced education. We feature luxury hair care by partnering with Kerastase Paris and L’Oreal Professional. We are truly honored by the relationships which have been formed over the years.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being in business for almost twenty years, of course, there have been several bumps along the way. However, we always strive to keep a positive mentality and give 110% to our business, staff, and clientele.

Impulse Salon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Impulse is such a heart and soul of a business if you will. I’ve been working with the company for the last twelve years. We pride ourselves on education, by staying up to date with the upmost extensive training the industry has to offer. We fly in platform artists from all over the world to train our staff on our off days, and we travel anywhere and everywhere to learn from the best of the best.

As well, we are one of the only salons that offers an apprenticeship program. We train from the bottom up, and give the tools needed to be a successful stylist.

What sets us apart is the true love and passion for the industry. Our three owners have been doing hair for almost 40 years, and still love it as much as when they started. We believe in the spirit of our people and choose to provide the highest level of customer service and skill set to every client that steps foot into our salon. Plus, we do damn good hair!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career would be all of the opportunities I’ve had to travel and gain knowledge of the business side of the hair industry. I was able to grow in my career and further myself as a business woman. I set very high goals for myself this year, and was able to surpass them mid year!
