Today we’d like to introduce you to Skyy Iyahdae Indigo.
Skyy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
For the past 22 years of my life, I have been on a mission to self-healing and finding myself as an artist, creator, healer, and a mother. At the center of any type of art that I do is my compassion to help others. Through my art and understanding of energy and self, I’m passionate about creating a space to change and uplift someone’s life through my experiences. Skyy Crystals has given me the freedom to be able to do so. I’ve watched people suffer greatly through health issues mentally, physically and spiritually for simply not knowing truths of natural healing, and that we have the power to heal ourselves. Everything begins with energy. Energy moves in vibrations and begins to manifest itself in some form. Positive and negative vibrations and thoughts have a direct effect on our entire being. We have been taught to start from the surface of what we see, neglecting the source of our pains and illnesses, leaving us unbalanced continuing unhealthy cycles. An entire transformation could be as simple as starting from the subconscious, dissecting crippling patterns, and clearing pathways for healthy energy to flow.
Being a survivor of depression, I’ve used many of these natural resources, earth’s hidden gems, to heal myself. These include chakra balancing techniques through crystals, essential oils, herbs, diet, sound vibrations, geometric symbols, positive affirmations, embracing truth and accountability, and learning to love and forgive. Through diligently applying this to my life, I was able to learn how to handle my past, and any situation that comes my way. This motivated me to want to teach others and make products that are handmade, unique and all natural. I truly enjoy what I do and seeing how my gifts and wisdom has given someone a new perspective on healing by being receptive to the energy I put into my products.
Has it been a smooth road?
I live by a person motto, “Adversity is like rocks. It can bury you, or you can use it to build a foundation for the testimony of your life.” Pain, adversity, and struggles are life’s greatest teachers. They are unavoidable but how you handle them makes all the difference. My struggles were about me learning myself and staying balanced through the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur. You have to have patience and perseverance. You will have extreme high’s in business (and life) and there will be extreme lows. I just found balance in going with the flow. Not forcing things to happen. You have to handle life going on around you and sometimes it can be overwhelming and demotivating but you remember your vision and purpose and you keep going. I learned to ignore the pressures of social media and even people to perform. I do as I feel I am guided to. When things are slow, there’s an urge to find things that make other people happy which can compromise the integrity of who you are in your business. If I don’t feel it, I sit back, breathe and allow the answers to come to me. When I am at my best mentally, spiritually, and physically, I am able to give my best to the people guided to my business. Through everything, you must learn to find your balance. Three years into Skyy Crystals and I still have so far to grow with it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Skyy Crystals story. Tell us more about it.
Skyy Crystals is essentially about products that I find to work in my healing that I’m offering to others. I specialize in handmade crystal jewelry, crystal-infused essential oil products, and bringing awareness to chakra health and balancing. I see healing on a whole level, understanding that everything flows together. I feel what makes my company unique is I strive to be sure people understand what they are buying and why. You aren’t just buying beautiful jewelry but jewelry that has a healing purpose. I’m very inclined to stick to details, so I explain what the crystals are for and how to get the most out of what you purchase. My website is very knowledgeable as I explain the importance of chakras and sound vibrations, and each product is labeled with its benefits. When I put orders together for shipping, I do so in a way so that when people open their packages, they feel as if someone has given them a gift. I think that’s very important when people receive items, especially for the purpose of being uplifting. It opens them to receive the energy that I put in handmaking my products. There’s nothing worse than paying good money for a product and you receive it as if no love was put into it. I’ve had that experience quite a few times, so I’ve learned from experience.
From start to finish, your products are handled with love and care. When a crystal is about to be sent to its new owner, I energetically cleanse them specifically for that person. Anyone can tell you about the positive energy and vibrations they feel from my jewelry and products. I’m proud that I’ve had good results with my customers. I’m proud of the customer service I provide and learning how to handle people as they should be treated in business. I’m open for anyone to ask me questions at anytime about just about anything. If I can help, I’m happy to do so. Even if it’s unrelated to what I sell. I love spreading knowledge. My energy is nurturing and giving and that’s something a lot of us need. You will get that in every aspect of my business or speaking with me personally. I try to be that bit of light in a world full of darkness.
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
I believe that people who find out about Skyy Crystals were divinely sent to do so. It’s that saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher appears.” I’m really sort of relaxed when it comes to the course of my business because I enjoy the intimate energy I have with it and my customers. So, I don’t put pressure on becoming some big entity. If I do, then I am blessed, and the creator will provide for me to do so. I just hope that everything I make is understood and received the way I want to give it, to heal some part of someone’s soul. I don’t apply titles to myself because I enjoy the freedom within my personality, I just go with the flow.
Now, as an artist, I would like to create works of art and products through many other mediums. As people grow to know Skyy Crystals and the integrity I have for my products, I would like for it to be understood that I apply that energy across the board in everything that I do. I’ve professionally been a tattoo artist, and now exploring photography, so to blend the three with my understanding of the importance of healing is my goal. I’ve learned that the more I grow, the deeper my understanding becomes, and my vision grows. Last year I didn’t see a lot of what I’m now doing this year. One thing I know for sure, is I see continued growth and conquering my own personal goals which are what defines success for me. I will create an avenue for the ability to keep and always protect my peace of mind. It’s what I know to do to continue being my best self. I’ll let the Universe handle the rest!
