Meet Trailblazer Zeonca Roseberry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zeonca Roseberry.

Zeonca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Covington, GA. I’m a certified Bootcamp instructor – Personal trainer. I’m the Founder/CEO of FitGirlzRock. FitGirlzRock is a women’s fitness group, I started in 2013 with roughly around five-ten women attending my classes till now, I’ve as many as 40 women sign up. I started FitGirlzRock because I’ve always wanted to stay in shape and enjoyed going to the gym. When I would go to the gym, I would post my workouts and women would always reach out to me and tell the wanted to train with me, when I started working out, I never thought I would actually become a trainer but I fell in love fitness, and once I got my first set of clients and I was able to transform their bodies, I knew I had made the right decision! The best feeling I’ve ever felt! Five years later, I’m still going strong!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This has not been the easiest journey but I’ve managed to stay with it, some struggles I’ve dealt with along the way was when I went to the doctor and my doctor wanted to put me on cholesterol medication, it really bothered me because here I am running a women fitness group, working out and eating right and the doctor tells me I need cholesterol medicine. I was in my twenties so it really bothered me, at that point, I knew I had to buckle down on my diet more to reverse this because cholesterol medicine wasn’t an option for me, needless to say, six months later, my cholesterol was down with no medication! Just like any other business owner, you get discouraged when your numbers are down and clients aren’t being consistent, but that’s when you have to pray and ask God to give you strength to keep pushing and not give up on your dream because the ups and down comes with journey, you just have trust your journey and your process.

I’m blessed and honored that these women trust me to help them achieve their fitness goals because it’s a lot of trainers but they continue to rock with FGR which is amazing!

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
For any young woman starting her career or starting a business, never stop striving! Even when you reach your goal set a new one! Never give up! Pray over your business daily and God will definitely see you through the rest of the way.
