Today we’d like to introduce you to Meshonda Moore.
Meshonda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger. I began my journey as a blogger just a little over a year ago. I have always been a fan of fashion. I decided to start blogging because I would post a picture on social media and I would have so many people inquiring about where I had gotten my outfits from, so I decided to start a blog so I could share this information with everyone at once while providing style tips.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t exactly been a smooth road for me, when you’re trying something new, there will always be stumbling blocks but the trick to it is to remain focused. Some of the struggles along the way we’re trying to find my niche and determine what types of style I wanted to focus on. I decided that I would just stay true to myself and not to limit my post to just one area. Another struggle was trying to get traffic to the blog, I realized that strangers were supporting me more than the people that actually knew me personally.
Some advice that I have for new bloggers is to be consistent with your post and remain true to your true self. There are many bloggers out there that you may be inspired by, but remain true to your own style and don’t try to mimic someone else. Also, the last piece of advice would be to market yourself, put yourself out there and make you your number one priority, realize that everyone is not going to support you and it’s okay, support those that support you. Remain humble and remember to always be kind.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I wear many hats and aside from being a Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger, I am also a Brand Ambassador, Personal Stylist, Virtual Personal Shopper, and a Closet Consultant. Mostly, I am known for being a Fashion Blogger and Brand Ambassador. For those that may not know, a Brand Ambassador is a person who is paid to endorse or promote a particular company’s products or services and that is what I would say that I am most proud of as a brand. I am humbled that companies choose me to promote their brand. I would say that what sets me apart from everyone else is I don’t keep myself in a bubble, there are all types of fashion styles on my blog from street style to businesses professional.
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
The women in my life that have inspired me are my mom and aunts. They are some very strong God fearing women that always support and encourage me. My mom is smart, strong, caring, forgiving, and definitely determined. She can do anything that she puts her mind to. She pushes me beyond my limits and she believes in me. She always made me feel that I was the best at whatever I did.
