Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Anderson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeremy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my photography/videography journey in front of the camera as an actor. It all began with an acting course I took my freshmen year of college as an elective. I fell in love with the class and the art and from that point, I knew I wanted to pursue a career as an Actor. Though I’ve been acting now for six years and love what I do, the business does come with its cons. One is finding a “day job” that has a flexible work schedule and also pays the bills. During this six-year time span I’ve worked a number of day jobs but none of them gave me both flexibility and sufficient income. After jumping from job to job, I realized that I needed to create my own opportunities and as a result, JAE Productions LLC was formed.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but its definitely been a great learning experience in entrepreneurship. When I first started with photography/videography, I had no idea how much money or time I would need to invest in my business. I assumed as long as I had a good camera and a decent lens I’d be good to go but I was sadly mistaken. There was so much more equipment I needed from tripods to lighting equipment, stabilizers, editing software, etc. to produce the quality of work that I wanted. With that said, one of my biggest struggles I faced early on with my business was making sure I had everything I needed to be prepared for any situation that could take place during a photo/video shoot.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Jae Productions is a photography/videography company that focuses on helping individuals/businesses build their brand with quality images and visuals. We cover everything from headshots, brand building/lifestyle shoots, and event photography. I specialize in lifestyle/brand building shoots which allow me to capture candid moments of my clients, doing whatever it is they do best. I love it. It’s just something about capturing people while they work on their craft, in their comfort zone, that inspires me to continue working on my craft.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe our city is great place for anybody looking to get into photography and/or videography. Atlanta is just a dope place to be in general with plenty dope people that are in need of dope photographers. It’s as simple as that. Not to mention the great networking opportunities that come with being in a big city with lots of influence.
