Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Turner.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Whitney. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I remember working my first full-time job thinking WOW people really do this everyday FOR years… DECADES & for me it wasn’t that I disliked my job at all or I had dreams of being a millionaire it was that I couldn’t stand the repetitiveness that came with it.
I wanted freedom to take a lunch break where I actually had time to eat and work at my own pace and on more than just someone else’s dream.
I wanted to feel rewarded for investing my time and energy and to be stimulated.
I started mapping out ideas in a notebook all day everyday at work, researching and trying to find a way to do something I LOVE not just something I saw someone else doing that was making them a lot of money. I started working 70 hours a week (2 jobs) to save enough to move, purchase a new car and invest into my company. I knew I had to at least plant the seed.
Relocating to GA from DE was a huge move but I planned it. Made it happen one year after moving I started putting more effort into my business endeavors that I felt were put on hold, I started searching for ways to market, brand myself and find different branches in the beauty industry that I was interested in.
Honestly, one day I was just doing “it” doing what I loved AND profiting. It took me years, frustration, saving and mapping everything down & to this day I still run into the unpredictable but I’m always proud I took a chance, I made the sacrifice and put in 1000 more hours than I could at any job just to work for myself.
Four years in and I now make over 5x my previous income
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
NO. There’s been difficult customers, things I didn’t know, things I wish I had known and dry periods where I was the only one who was clapping and rooting for myself.
Please tell us about The Artistry Vault.
The Artistry Vault is a beauty boutique which started online but now offers lash extension services, training courses, lash supplies, 3d mink lashes, virgin and raw hair extension, custom units as well as wholesale opportunities.
I am most proud of the fact that I started from nothing and never gave up, I’m able to do what I love everyday & travel while doing it!
My devotion and passion for my company sets me apart because when I’m working or teaching I don’t do it for the money at that moment I do it because I love lashing & I love putting other women in the position to feel beautiful and to become business owners. I think that alone sets me apart because I believe in quality and customer service so if that means no sleep… I don’t sleep! If that means constantly trying to bring new and better things to the table… that’s what I do! I’m never not working or developing things.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood would be…. summer vacations every year at Disney world.
