Today we’d like to introduce you to Aerial Yazmine.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Aerial. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started off by reconstructing pieces of clothing that I owned in middle school. I started off hand sewing and just using scissors and safety pins until I got a sewing machine which wasn’t until my senior year of high school. After high school, I attended scad for one year, then I wasn’t able to complete college while living in a one bedroom hotel with my four family members. When everyone would go to sleep, I would sew in the bathroom to keep the noise down and also hoping to gain more inspiration due to the circumstances I and my family were in. I was working one job, then two, then three and ended up quitting than to focus on my craft and realized I wasn’t in school and was out of work, so I felt like there was no hope but I knew I made the right decision because as a creative, I was willing to take the risk. I ended up releasing my website on m birthday of 2018 but decided it wasn’t time, so I’ll be releasing a small spring collection this 2019.
Has it been a smooth road?
Everything I’ve been through up until this day has been a struggle. I didn’t have any motivation, any inspiration, I had no money no car and nobody to depend on or anybody to invest in my business so it made me work harder! Continue hustling 10x harder.
My dad told me whatever you put into life is what you’ll get out.
So, I don’t want to try to achieve something and not working toward it.
I believe everyone should think the same!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into AerialYazmine story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a fashion designer, a stylist and soon to be a print model and motivational speaker.
I’m most proud of growing and becoming something, something that young people in this generation can look up to because sometimes, I get stuck, then I share my story and realize without God and without hustling or effort, anything is possible.
I’m different because I don’t think like everyone else, I don’t do what everyone else does, I don’t want to be apart of the crowd and I don’t believe in people from success, I believe in God.
It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I wish I read more books! But I’m usually on Polyvore or vogue or weheart it for app use.
