Meet Michel Valbrun of Valbrun Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michel Valbrun.

Michel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Miami, Florida from two Haitian parents. My parents came to the United States with one goal in mind, and that was for their children to live the American Dream and live a better life than they did in Haiti. As you would imagine, they didn’t come here with all the necessary tools and knowledge you need to achieve financial prosperity in this country. They would always tell me to “go to school, get good grades, and get a job,” and even though it was good advice, it wasn’t the advice I needed to create real wealth. On top of this confusion, my father left my mom and my two sisters to fend on our own and figure things out. The experience of my father leaving us, coupled with other life experiences motivated me to seek financial success and share my knowledge with the world.
I graduated from the University of Florida with an Accounting degree with over $30,000 worth of student loan debt and thousands of dollars worth of credit card debt. Frustrated with my financial circumstances, I began reading and watching thousands of hours worth of content about personal finance and money management. I eventually paid off my student loan debt and passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
This success motivated me even further to commit to providing financial empowerment to over one million people through speaking and online courses. Additionally, I help entrepreneurs and small business owners increase their financial intelligence, reduce their tax liability, and achieve their financial goals through consulting and outsourced CFO services. In short, I help people make and grow their money, hence why I have given myself the name “Money Makin Mich.”

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My greatest mentors are men and women that I have never met in person but learn from through books, videos, and conferences. Some of my biggest roles models include Les Brown, Eric Thomas, Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr., Daymond John, Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, Grant Cardone, Gary Vaynerchuck, Oprah Winfrey, and many more people. I’ve learned different lessons from each of these amazing people and implement the character traits I enjoy most into my life.
My greatest supporter is my wife, Racquel. She has always supported me, even when we were friends and she continues to support me on this journey. My clients are amazing and continue to help me by providing referrals and testimonials. My mother and aunt played a significant role in my life and are true heroes for raising me and my sisters.
