Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Canidate.

Britney, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For me, growing up I was told to major in something smart, get a great paying job and maintain tenure at a company so I could advance in the ranks and have social security!

I was never taught to be a business owner, to explore my creative and to monetize my passion. So I did what I knew—I got my Masters, got a good paying job and got real comfortable. But…something was always missing, and I couldn’t explain it.

While studying abroad in Valencia, Spain my senior year in college, I took a photography course! And I remember how it was such a funny thing to my family. See, to them (and maybe me too)… photography wasn’t a “real” class. But for me, it was the first time ever that I tapped into my creative, and I was darn good at it if I might add.

It was during this time when I started to think, what if I could do something fulfilling like this, and actually make a living? Actually, make a difference.

So, I started to think through the creative things I was already doing in my life, and ways to translate them into careers. I didn’t realize at the time, but this was the start to my creative, entrepreneurial journey.

So when I was planning my wedding, I said to myself, “you should be a wedding planner.” And I was. When I was shooting pictures for family & friends just for fun, I said, “you should be a photographer.” And I was. When I was building a website for an upcoming event I was hosting I said to myself, “you should be a web & graphic designer.” And I was.

But you know what, at the time I never stopped to realize that it wasn’t the job or career I loved, it was the concept of transforming visions into real tangible outcomes—that at the end produced really happy people.

Happy couples. Happy friends. Happy business owners.

I was addicted to showing people, “look you can make anything you envision come to life…and be happy!”

Looking back now, my why has been sprinkled throughout my journey this entire time. So now, I realize…my why is to help people transform ideas into real tangible outcomes that allow them to live happy and fulfilling lives.

So a little bit more about me…

My name is Britney Jeanine and I am a wife, mom and have been a creative entrepreneur for over 11 years—geez, that is really hard to believe. But…here we are!

During my entrepreneurial journey, I have had the pleasure of designing and strategizing for over 110+ brands, have spoken at an array of creative conferences, hosted several hands-on brand workshops and have met some amazing people along the way.

From Florida State to Georgetown, government agency to PR agency—I’ve done it all. And while it was cool to support high ranking government officials in the corridors of the Pentagon, to write a talking point (or 20) for the President of the United States and even get all the accolades, I set out to accomplish…I still found myself creatively imprisoned.

So…I sought out to run my own creative business Britney Jeanine & Co…and while my business today isn’t what it was when I first started, the evolution and journey have been one to be remembered…and God’s had my back the entire way!

Through my professional and educational background, I have learned what it means to build a brand that works—and it is my goal to teach as many businesses how to strategically build a successful and profitable brand. From clarity to conversions… this is my purpose. This is my passion.

Yes, there will be frustrating days…yes there will be setbacks! But boy, will there also be rewards, acknowledgments, success and even times where you sit in disbelief realizing that you actually DID IT!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Omg, no! The journey has been a true roller coaster but I wouldn’t change it for the world! The journey has allowed me to learn more about myself, people and honestly to tap into a creative being within…that frankly I did not know existed.

Struggles though…man…

Imposter syndrome…
Comparison due to social media…
Doubt…
Frustrations…

But tapping back into who I am, and whose I am have always been KEY! God won’t steer me wrong, and hey! That’s all I need to know.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Britney Jeanine & Co. – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Well, I am extremely passionate about helping others break-free in exploring their own creative, and of course, monetizing their passions! Teaching is my thing…and it’s what I have been called to do!

But! If I had to keep it simple I would say:
My specialty is creative brand coaching where I help new and established entrepreneurs create business/brand plans to better reach their customers, make money doing what they love and live a more fulfilling life.

At Britney Jeanine & Co. creative entrepreneurs will find brand coaching, online education and events ALL centered around growth! Growth in visibility & value, clientele & confidence!

To be honest, I am known for bossing up and using the Wix platform like a G hahaha…but that comes from my designer days! I have crafted some bangin’ brands ya’ll. Logos! Websites…the works. But I have since transitioned.

I am also known for always sharing, being open & transparent! You will always find me doing some sort of how to video or breaking out into a solutions-driven conversation at any given moment. I hate hogging information…that doesn’t benefit anyone!

What I am most proud of is….it’s been 11 years, and your girl is STILL going! I have failed time and time again, but somehow I get back up, find another path and keep on going!

What sets me apart from others are two things: my approach and my experience!

Approach: branding and marketing for me is all about breaking things down in the most simplest form so that folks get it. Too often are we out in the world throwing out concepts that force people to open dictionaries and college textbooks! My clients are going to get a fun, laid-back experience with integrated learning that is easy to understand and apply.

Experience: I am a jackie-of-all-trades! Because I have been an event planner, a photographer, a PR strategist, a marketing/communications professional, a photographer AND a brand designer, I can see a brand from sooooo many angles—that perhaps some cannot. I have the ability to combine my educational, professional and entrepreneurial background to help creatives in ways unimaginable. So having done it all, actually benefits my clients.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Mannnn this is a great question! Well, I just retired as a brand designer and have transitioned into coaching. But down the road, I can definitely see myself running a full-service high-end marketing and branding firm! If God has that for me, it’ll be!
