Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Hinton.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Trinity. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up as a little black girl, with a wide nose, big lips, and dark skin (all the stereotypical African American features), I felt that my beauty wasn’t accepted the way many others were. That’s when I discovered blue eyeshadow. The rest is history. A skill that was once used to hide many of my insecurities became a tool used to embrace the beauty we are all given.
Has it been a smooth road?
The journey of breaking free from society’s control and forging your own path is just that, a journey! For every up, there is a down, countless setbacks and roadblocks. My advice for any young women wanting to start their own business is to NEVER let anything stop you from chasing your goals. Attack every obstacle with positivity, mistakes are made so you can learn and get better!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a 20-year-old licensed cosmetologist in the state of Arkansas, with certifications in makeup and lash extensions. I complete many different beauty services each day all centered around makeup and hair. Although I enjoy being well versed in the beauty industry, I love natural makeup over everything. It’s just something amazing to me about complementing women’s natural, God-given features. I am most proud of my first lip gloss line called Chakra coming soon from my beauty brand Omorfia. My approach and resolve to all aspects of my daily life are often unique to the ones of others. Everything is about your perspective! Although I’m nowhere near where I plan on being one day, I’m enjoying my journey, every single step of it.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
My favorite book would have to be “Meditation: The Way To One’s Spiritual Life “ by Kathy Riddick. My favorite app is called Headspace. I try to elevate myself in numerous ways daily, through all areas of life.
