Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeramiah Roberts.
Jeramiah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up I watched my grandmother dress and I loved how she coordinated colors and mixed patterns. She was my first inspiration to taking pride in how I looked. From watching her, I grew into exploring my own personal style. In high school, I came close to winning best dressed but instead everyone thought that Most Dependable suited me better. In caring more about the way I looked I also took pride in my retail job at Ralph Lauren as assistant merchandiser.
I enjoyed dressing the mannikins and setting up displays not realizing what I was tapping into a passion that I would soon later come back to. Like most recent high school graduates, I was unsure of exactly what I wanted to do, but I knew I loved business and marketing. I attended American Intercontinental University to study Business Management. While I loved tapping into my entrepreneurial mind, I still didn’t feel fulfilled. After another degree change at Kennesaw State University, and more soul searching of what makes me happy, Fashion found me again. One day I was speaking to a friend who I shared my feelings of being unfulfilled career-wise with. She told me that I always look good, so why not help people look good with Fashion Styling.
As soon as she said that, my heart immediately connected. Little did I know that everything I had done would lead me to this moment of all my passions in one. After I did some research on the need for Fashion Stylist, I felt so happy and excited to start my passion career. I immediately started working on my business plan and studying stylist. I was fortunate to connect with an indie record label company who helped to jump-start my fashion career where I served as lead stylist for indie artist for branding shoots and music videos. As I built relationships a lot of opportunities opened up as well for my styling services. I then realized that everything that I loved helping individuals look good and feel good by what they wear. Everything that I have learned from my assistant merchandising days, business and leadership degrees have come into play when it comes to being an entrepreneur so everything came full circle for me. I’ve been blessed to work with some greats in the industry but I want to be known as the fashion stylist who works with everyone. I enjoy what I do and I believe that your profit is where your passion is. I am blessed to do what I love and help make the world more stylish one client at a time.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This journey has not been the easiest. Personally I’ve dealt with doubt in my gift by being intimidated by all the social media and comparing my journey to other fashion stylist in the beginning of my career. I’ve always celebrated others in their accomplishments but social media has a way of glamorizing everything to the point that it makes you question yourself. As I matured in this game over the years, I’ve realized that everyone’s journey is so different. I’ve also become comfortable in my lane and how I run my business. Plus, I’ve learned that what’s for me is for me so I am not worried about others journey.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Fashion Mr. – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a fashion stylist. There are so many different names for what I do but that is a simple name for what I am. I help individuals put their best foot forward by looking their best. In a world where you’re judged by your appearance, I help bring confidence to individuals by ensuring they look the part. I styled men and women. What I’m most proud of is the way my clients take good care of me as I take good care of them. To me, that means I bring value to their lives because they are loyal and very supportive of all of my endeavors. What sets me apart from others is that way I’ve connected fashion and giving back with my nonprofit events Fashioned 4 Greatness. This nonprofit event is a traveling event that helps individuals go to the next level by styling them in free professional attire shoes and accessories. Along with that free styling service from myself and fashion friends, I also offer haircuts, hairstyling, Makeup artist, resume review, mock interviews and everything that is needed to prepare their next level.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
For the future I plan to travel the world styling great people and also doing high school and college tours with my Fashioned 4 Greatness nonprofit events, I am looking forward to styling more influential people mainly some of my favorites like Tracee Ellis Ross and Michelle Obama just to name a few.
