Meet Brea Etkins of Naked Luna Swim in Downtown Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brea Etkins.

Brea, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started Naked Luna with the help of my boyfriend. He always pushed me to be great and to stay hungry. I never took my business serious because I honestly wasn’t confident in myself. Though with my family’s support, my friends’ confidence in me, and my boyfriend’s push, I got to work in building my brand. Naked Luna initially started off as a lingerie line but being originally from Miami, I thought that swim would be more appealing and easier for my audience to gravitate to. Naked Luna is inspired by the early 90’s swim and style. High cut and minimal sex appeal. I was disappointed in the lack of thought that most swim brands put into their collections. I just didn’t want a swimsuit that was “trendy”. I wanted a swimsuit the exuded comfortability as well as flavor. I pride myself in presenting my customers with quality fabric, intricate details, and bold cuts. When your wearing Naked Luna you are a STARLET. You are the center of attention. Today, I’m continuously building my brand, being true to what I want presented, and pushing myself to go harder.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road? Who has those???? If so let me in on your secret.

But no it hasn’t been easy, it’s been so hard. Many discouraging days and countless doubts. So many arguments with my boyfriend on capability and work ethic. It sucks to be in the beginning stages of a new brand, but you have to believe in what you’re doing or no one else will. Your customers can see right through you. I don’t care if I get one sale or twenty sales, I’m just as happy because they like what I’m doing. Just trying to stay consistent and be positive and not stress over things I can’t change,

Please tell us about Naked Luna Swim.
I specialize in quality, classic, and sexy swimwear. I want every woman to feel like a goddess in my swimsuits. I specialize in unique one pieces. High cut swimwear inspired by my most favorite era, the 1990’s. Thongs and no cares lol! Though we do offer all of our swim in cheeky bottom styles if that’s not what you’re into. I am most proud of the feedback I receive from my swimsuits and the shock of customers when they feel my swimwear and notice that I took my time into creating my brand. What sets me apart from others is my creativity. I’m not into trends, I’m into starting my own trends. I trust myself to create swimsuits that can stand in their own lane.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be all of the huge annual events my mother used to put on for our family and friends. It was super amazing to see everyone at one time and indulging in the great food and awesome games. I’m thinking about starting that up again for the new generation of my family and friends.
