Meet Brittany Bowens of The Planners Corner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Bowens.

Brittany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As the owner of a full-service wedding/event planning business – iBee Events, I’ve always had a passion for the event industry! In every event, every personal incident I found myself teaching others more and more about the event industry, how it works, and I always wanted everyone to take the event industry serious – like they do any other industry. I had the desire to show people that being an event planner is far beyond a hobby!

I never intended to start a membership-based organization – I thought that having seminars and speaking from time to time would be enough! I considered myself “overwhelmed” with working, serving on the educational committee for NACE, and hosting my seminars!

In Summer of 2018 I heard God say to me “More” – and I was like MORE??! Where am I going to fit more? – God “More” is NOT in my plans right now!

They say “tell God your plans – and watch him laugh” – and chillleee was he giggling!

I launched The Planners Corner in January of 2019 – as a membership-based organization for rising event planners who desire to be amongst like-minded industry planners, gain resources, and simply find events to let their hair down from time to time!

The Planners Corner has taken off- much faster than I expected! I love it! I love what I’m doing! The Planners Corner is my calling – It’s my service to others – It’s my way of pouring back into my industry!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Going off the plan, I set for myself to trust God in the plan he originally had for me was definitely a struggle for me! There were definitely days that were hard for me to understand clearly what the purpose was for the membership!

People have always perceived me as someone who works hard, smart, and strictly about business – I wanted a platform that would allow me to show others that there is another side to me – I’m passionate about helping others, I care so much about the black female community, and I’m a person that enjoys fun things that don’t require work!

The Planners Corner is my platform to be ME – to show others my heart! To GIVE! – To show that educating your self can be fun!

It’s always a struggle to share your life and something you’re most passionate about with others!

Please tell us about The Planners Corner.
The Planners Corner is a membership-based organization for rising and seasoned event planners from all walks of our industry – Including Corporate, Entertainment, Weddings, Social, and/or Non-Profit Events. Our organization has members in Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, and in Georgia of course!

I’m a Certified Event Planner specializing in wedding planning and social events under my company iBee Events.

Some have called me “The Event Planning Fairy God Mother” or “The Planner Friend” – I’ve become known as an Atlanta based event planner who desires to help other planners!

For The Planners Corner – I’m so proud of how far it has taken off in the first couple of months, that it’s purpose driven, and that I have sponsors and planners who truly believe in what I’m doing and how I plan to impact our Industry!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
NOT A THING! – I’m literally exactly where I need to be in my career – and everything I’ve been through has set me up for this position and for everything that God has coming my way!
