Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Lopez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sandra. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Prior to starting up, I was working as a manager administrator at a weight loss clinic and as a bartender at the most famous night club in Atlanta call Tongue & Groove. But I’ve always wanted to do more with life not only for myself but for my two beautiful kids.
In February 2016, I decided to quit my night job which I had worked for 13 years. I felt it was the time since I was enjoying it no more and I wanted to spend weekend nights with my children. It was a hard decision to make because money was really good. It actually took me more than a year to decide that was the best thing to do. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to live with just one salary since I was a single mother of two, but something told me it was time for me to become my own boss and start my own business but, at doing what? I was not clear of what I wanted to do. Going back about five years ago, I was also making desserts and selling them to restaurants, I enjoyed making them, but not so much going to restaurants and try to negotiate a fear price for my work and time, so I stop doing it. Right after I quick my night job, it was mine by that time 4-year-old son’s birthday. I decided I wanted to go big on his birthday party and do a big dessert table with delicious and very unique dessert shooters, brownies, meringues, French macaroons, of course, three cakes and much more and it was while I was making all this that I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. six months later I quick my day job to give Santini my 100%.
The name SANTINI is a mix of both of my two kids names. My son’s name is Santiago, my daughter’s name is Destini.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been easy. My life has changed drastically. Sometimes, I work 14 – 24 hours straight, and there are still so many challenges to overcome, but I feel tremendously satisfied when our customers call to tell me how much they loved my cakes. Still, the moment of feeling enriched hasn’t come yet. It will be when we are unfailingly recognized all over GA and why not!? The United States.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Santini Mini Sweets – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are trying to bring something more unique to our clients. We love to make different designs to make it more personal. The way we work is by getting to know our clients first… their favorite colors, personalities, taste, etc… and that way we put together that very special and unique cake that they will never forget.
Our cakes and Sweets are specifically made to order. No mass production! We work with you to personalize the product to complement the theme of your special occasion.
What sets us apart from others are:
•We bake with passion.
•We only bake from scratch.
•Our designs are unique and customized for each client.
•Custom cake prices are based on each individual order.
•We offer gluten-free and vegan options.
•We take food allergies very seriously.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are holding ourselves tightly to achieving our goals. There is an exciting development to look forward to. We are working with amazing vendors here in ga and have big events coming up. Also, we are now talking to a few hotels to have some of our cakes serve as their desserts and sooner than later we will open our storefront.
