Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle “Kenzie Cash” Barber.
Danielle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Shortly after graduating from high school, I took an interest in modeling. I was once very shy but had to figure out a way to get over this fear. In order to face this fear, I searched for other ways to push me outside of my box. In 2012, I came across a very reputable hair care company and begin to work as a hair model. In the beginning, it wasn’t so easy but doing my first gig ever triggered something in me to the point where I wanted to take my modeling career further! Without a doubt, it has lead me to where I am currently in life as a promotional model/inspiring actor!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey to success is unmatched. It’ll never be easy because there’s always other competition.
Some of my struggles would be to be versatile in multiple settings. My body type is more along the lines of very sporty and athletic build. So, trying to come off on a softer vibe on film is tough for me.
My advice for other women would be… just be yourself and you’ll set yourself apart from the competition out here. Everyone’s caught up in being this perfect plastic Barbie doll with a coke bottle shape. In actuality, we all know everyone is not made the same and that there are normal body types that can come across just as sexy as well. Don’t get discouraged, there’s a lane for everyone. Just accelerate at your own speed!
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
What I do… I do promotional work for multiple companies. I can be photographed with a product I’m selling or having fun shooting promotional footage for a campaign.
I’m known for advertising social events.
What sets me apart from others… my grind! I’m a mother, so finding that extra time and giving that extra push to live out my dream is draining!!!!
Which women have inspired you in your life?
Kelly Rowland, because I’ve been told I look similar to her and we have the same body type. She’s beyond phenomenal and being able to work the same set as her was a dream come true. I will forever look up to her!
