Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Harris.
Asia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
God, Positivity, and Inspiration kept me afloat. During my last semester of college juggling year-round courses, a twelve-hour job position, a move home from a failed relationship with an hour and a half commute and military obligation, this is what keep the ores moving. Positivity struck! It stuck and it stuck. I realized reading those boring self-help books, Ted talks and becoming stuck in the black hole of inspirational YouTube videos was my passion. I soon realize my obsession with digging deeper into research, myself and Christ was not just a phase. I wanted to create that portal just not for myself but for those struggling like me. I decided to use social media as a platform to share the great news. Traveling to speak, inspire and ignite are two ways I share my perspective and research. Changing the world one post, one speech and one conversation at a time is my goal.
Has it been a smooth road?
You set goals, you have visions and you just know you are going to go left but then the almighty sends you straight to the right. It hasn’t been easy, struggling with persistence, reaching specific milestones and even understanding priorities. These are just a few major factors that have been huge learning lessons for me. Every day is a new one and I remind myself whether distracted by whatever may come to continue to fight for my passion, have the resilience and pursue my dreams. Nothing is perfect, no one is perfect, we all have faced the non-supporters, self-doubts or even financial constraints but as long as you try your best that’s all that matters. No one going to cater to your grind more than you. Don’t let go.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Life of Asia D story. Tell us more about the business.
My passion is spreading positivity and motivation with god every day. I am known for my transparency. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not perfect and I do have my fair share of a secret or two. However, the creation of a raw environment is my platform. I want people to see my truth then relate. I try my best to show my audience Asia’s everyday struggles through a post in addition to solutions. I am most proud of the listeners. Many people reach out to explain their relatable topics! Once this happens, I get to have one on one conversation with so many people. Hearing different stories and different ideas of solutions is my driving inhibitor!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a wild one! I loved sports and anything team related. I lost my immediate family early in my life so family meant a lot as well. I was definitely an extrovert and anything outside caught my attention. A “country girl” raised by her mom as some would describe. I attended a small Baptist church with my grandma nearly every Sunday. Entertaining is a great descriptive vocabulary word for my childhood. I got in trouble almost every day for talking too much. I never knew it would be beneficial and apart or my career today. Is a flaw just because someone told you it was? Embrace you!
