Meet Nesta Lumpkin of Just Bloom Life! in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nesta Lumpkin.

Nesta, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Several years ago, I was listening to best-selling author, Valorie Burton, speak at a women’s conference. I was there because I was searching for my purpose. She mentioned she got a master’s degree in Positive Psychology and I was instantly intrigued. I thought if I were to get a master’s degree I would want to study THAT. As I watched her speak, my spirit leaped inside me. I thought, wow, I would love to do what she’s doing. To inspire others. Soon after, I signed up for coach training at the CaPP Institute.

I still hadn’t started my business months after I received my certificate in Life Coaching. I told my husband I was a late bloomer, that it would take me a while to start. But, he encouraged me to “just bloom” and stop making excuses. And that’s how I chose the name Just Bloom Life! LLC for my Life Coaching practice.

I also love to write (see more of my work at Medium.com/@NestaLumpkin) and do speaking engagements.

Has it been a smooth road?
In my mind, my vision to success is clear.  But, reality never fails to shake me up, and remind me of the bumps and potholes in the road. Self-doubt and not knowing how to really prioritize of my time were difficult struggles at first.  Through self-coaching, I have gotten better.

Recently, I was losing focus by not appreciating the process and the journey. That happens when I compare where I am with where I want to be. But, God, who fuels my business goals, dropped a gem-of-a scripture in one of the daily affirmations and uplifting messages I read. “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…” (that’s from Zechariah 4:10 the New Living Translation).

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I help individuals and couples create strategies to get to the happiness and peace they desire instead of wandering aimlessly for years without a plan. I help marriages and people thrive.

I coach singles, engaged couples, newlyweds and seasoned couples.

I am in the business of seeing the best in people. I get to hear about my clients’ dreams and desires. And, my job is to help them realize it.

I love when a client has a breakthrough. To me, life coaching is like a thread streaming down from heaven trying to tie a knot with your God-given purpose deep inside you. There is such clarity when clients have their “aha!”

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Life coaching will grow exponentially in the next ten years. The more technology gets us more “connected,” the more disconnected I think we will actually become as human beings. That one-on-one yearning to be seen and loved by another person will get weakened. I believe we will need certified coaches to help to remind us to be focused and grounded.

Pricing:

  • Client sessions last an hour and are typically done via phone or via video chat.
  • Clients are given three sessions per month.
  • They are billed for a minimum of a three-12 month period.

I absolutely agree! Social media is giving a lot of people a false sense of security in their marriages and we will need people like you to dissect and pull it apart to see what’s missing in order to maintain a fruitful and healthy marriage. I love this!

You were inspired and now you are living your purpose to inspire others as well. I also love your testimony about the process in this journey. Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin..( Zech 4:10)
