Today we’d like to introduce you to CeCe Kyle.
CeCe, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Being from Atlanta, I’ve been able to watch this hip hop capital truly blossom right before my eyes. As a child, my love for music came from watching & listening to one of the greats, Michael Jackson. Everyone that knows me, knows that this was my first idol. I loved music and from watching him, I grew a strong love for dance as well. My dancing then met creative forces with my hobby of skating and from there I have been able to combine my talents. From my passion of music & connecting with others, I have had numerous opportunities from hosting events, performing live at Center Stage with artist Lloyd, being featured in music videos, and being casted for various extra roles in film & TV. If you ask anyone, I’m much known for my smile, fun personality, and genuine demeanor. From this, I earned my nickname and was stamped “The Realest.”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My “entertainment journey” has had its rough patches. There are times when I get frustrated with myself because I feel as if “I’m not where I want to be yet.” It is a very conflicting feeling because so many people praise me on all I have accomplished. While it is all motivating, you yourself know the heights you truly want to reach. On the outside looking in, you have been able to accomplish things some people only dream of, but to yourself, you’re barely scratching the surface. Everyone’s journey is different and ultimately, I continue to push myself to the limit and remain humble through it all.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am an event host, curator, professional skater, hip-hop dancer, and clothing brand owner. I have curated an event in Atlanta along with my DJ/business partner Greg Nyce called “Just VBZ” (Just Vibes). The purpose of this event is to give people a journey through music with the DJ being the focal point. We extend the opportunity for DJs to be able to play a wide spectrum of music they may or may not normally get to play at other parties or clubs. We essentially just wanted to provide a space for them to be themselves. Pairing art, fashion, and skating along with the experience, those that attend Just VBZ are able to get a full share of culture and all of its beautiful nuances.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have to give a great deal of appreciation to my business partner Greg Nyce. He definitely helps me stay afloat and encourages me to always be my true self. Whether we’re talking business or everyday life experiences, he is always in my corner and has been an extraordinary friend.
