Today we’d like to introduce you to Zay Bcuz.
Zay Bcuz is a young producer and artist who claims all Atlanta as his home but is specifically from Stone Mountain, Ga. Zay started to take music seriously around the time he was 13 years old; But back then, he didn’t think it would be a career. At that age, his interest in music had grown much deeper, as opposed to his peers. Hence, being an artist became his reputation. When asked about his inspirations, he says that T-pain actually inspired him, with the way he won people over singing AND rapping. Although T-Pain isn’t someone he would compare himself to, he instead refers to T-Pain as an influencer.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a multi-faceted type of artist, so far Zay is most proud of the fact that he can be googled since 2014 to be exact. If you search on Apple music (add all other platforms), you will find at least 4 projects- the first one dating back to 2016. Zay Bcuz does a combination of rapping and singing, and also writes and produces his music. This has been quite the adversity, however in marketing and branding aspects, making it pertinent to have a stand out niche. He even created an acronym for his art: R.A.P. – Real Ass Poetry. Having so much content out makes it easy to notice his versatility and growth. Creation is his favorite aspect of being an artist, and I believe that love for creation encourages him to consistently release music. Last year, he released two projects; one in which he allowed someone else to produce, called “ER”. This EP is the beginning of him leaving his trail around the world, as he collaborated with a producer from overseas.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with BCUZinc/NCEG – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Zay’s favorite song that he created on his own is “the Nu college dropout” off of his 2017 project “Just Bcuz 2.” When giving an explanation for the title, he simply expressed “that’s what I am.” The track gives insight into his feelings while in school. When asked what he wants people to get out of his (musical) creations, his first answer was “soul education”. He elaborated by saying that “whenever I put music out, I’m giving pieces of me to exist even beyond when I do. So, I want people to feel nostalgic off my music.” Also my passion is in my non-profit organization “N.C.E.G. (National Collegiate Entertainers Groups)” where we focus on EDUCATION of entertainment industry awareness in “finding your stage!”
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
