Meet Anesiha “SweetPeach” Freeman of Southern Belle Fitness in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anesiha “SweetPeach” Freeman.

Anesiha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got started by accepting a challenge presented by my trainer Kory Phillips a.k.a. King of Fitness. He asked, that I come up with a basic step routine and teach it some clients who have no rhythm, coordination, and two left feet.

He was looking to add Step Aerobics to his gym and was aware I have over 20 years of experience. Fast forward, I answered the challenge and the rest is becoming my future/history.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, the road isn’t smooth nor is it rough. It’s everything I envisioned, it would be. The struggle for me is adopting an entrepreneur mindset. Having been in Corporate America for over 20 years is a crush for me. Not to mention, I’m an Engineer. Therefore, Fitness is a whole new world. It’s no longer about me and my fitness journey. At times, I find myself being selfish and have to give myself a quick reminder… lady is no longer about you, but the ladies who have made an investment towards their fitness journey.” It’s not a struggle, I just get caught up in my own workouts.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a Fitness Instructor. I teach Step Aerobics and an Assistant Strength Trainer. I’m proud of watching my clients who have never stepped learn the moves. Many of them, express how they have no coordination and unable to dance. To watch them whole a beat has been amazing and beautiful to watch. What set me apart is my passion and love for each person that trains with me or somewhere else. Once, they share their goals… they become ours.

What were you like growing up?
Honey, a mess! I was always keeping things stirred up. I was a professional blackmailer. My sisters could do NOTHING without me being involved. If not, our parents somehow get wind of all the details. Baby, I can’t believe this lil snitch isn’t still wearing hella stitches.
