Meet Travis Borden of 10.10 Contracting in Canton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Borden.

Travis has over 12 years of residential construction experience and over 21 years of experience specific to the insurance industry. He is an expert in insurance claims, property loss, insurance investigation, and insurance recovery/restoration. Mr. Borden is a certified speaker in the industry and has lead seminars and presentations for thousands of insurance adjusters across all lines of insurance.

He became involved within the insurance restoration industry while still working within the field of insurance investigation. His services were contracted by a large construction firm owned by two of his childhood friends. His insurance expertise was utilized to establish an insurance restoration department for this construction company as they became inundated with the onset of claims related business. At the request of his childhood friends and business partners, Travis later took over operations and 10.10 Contracting was founded in late 2005 in Canton, GA, just outside of Atlanta. 10.10 Contracting is the premier source for roofing and restoration, and is known as an industry expert in Storm Damage Restoration.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is never easy, and being a business owner is never easy. It is a 24 hour a day/7 day per week operation. However, we take great pride in our community and knowing that 10.10 Contracting will provide the utmost in customer service to the people in our community makes it all worthwhile.

One of the largest hurdles in the onset of the business is solely that the business was new. When 10.10 Contracting started, there was no social media, digital photos were a relatively new ideal and to get listed with the BBB required several years of being in business first. In today’s age, you can start a social media profile in dozens of locations and start getting the business out there. 12 years ago, it was not that easy. To build the business, it took long hours of any marketing aspect you could think of just to get the business recognized.

The other hurdle was leaving a long term salaried position to build a business with no guarantees. It took believing in yourself and believing in your service to know that you will succeed. Luckily, we worked extremely hard on the referral aspect of the business and even with only a few customers, we took so much pride in our work and in our customer service, that our loyal customers spread the word that helped us grow the business quickly.

We specialize in residential roofing, remodeling, and storm damage restoration. 10.10 Contracting has an A+ rating with the BBB and is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, in addition to numerous industry accolades. 10.10 Contracting was also designated as a Certainteed ShingleMaster and a Storm Restoration Specialist, one of only two companies to have received this designation in Georgia (2017).

Our staff is dedicated to customer service and the quality of our customer relations and production product is unmatched. We only use the best materials and are dedicated to completing each project in a timely manner. In fact, we were using the highest quality materials for our projects before Georgia even adopted those upgraded items as code requirements.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is home. As a child, I moved around every couple year and I have called metro Atlanta home for 22 years, which 5 times longer than I ever lived anywhere else. I love Atlanta for the climate, the festivals, and our sports teams. The only thing not to like is the traffic, of course.
