Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Hope.
Gabrielle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was always shy growing up and I never thought modeling was for me. I used to watch America’s Next Top Model all the time and live vicariously through the girls and guys that were living the dream I would soon learn was my dream too. When I finally stepped out and tried modeling, I realized how much happiness it brought me and not only that, but I realized that it provided me a platform to influence other young girls and guys, letting them know they can do anything they put their mind to, just like me. I started modeling for an agency after I got scouted at the Cynthia Bailey model search. It was one of the most nerve-racking things I ever had to do, walk and talk in front of a crowd. But hey, jumping out of your comfort zone is the only way to grow and discover your true potential. After that, I was blessed to be apart of some big campaigns like Sprite and Creme of Nature. Today, I am a more confident model, as well as a YouTuber and I also work part-time at my father’s restaurant (Juci Jerk). I want to continue to break through social norms and show people that everyone does not fit into the same box, but in fact, we are all special in our own way.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing worth having in life comes easy. There have probably been more downs than ups, but the key is to keep moving forward and never give up. I’ve heard a lot of no’s, I’ve been turned away from agencies solely because of my height (5’7) and tattoos, sometimes, they never even get to experience my personality. Self-doubt, depression, you name it, I’ve been there, but there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Tell us more about your work.
I am my own business. I model and work a normal job, plus I make videos for my YouTube. I want to hopefully get noticed by a representation that could take me worldwide. I’m most proud of coming out of my shell. I can be an introvert at times.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Although luck is possible, I’m more so blessed than lucky, I would say. I believe in the power of positive thoughts manifesting and prayer. Most times, in time, you get exactly what you ask for.
