Meet Anthony Blackmon of Prezent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Blackmon.

Anthony, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well first of all I’m come all the way from Portland, Oregon where I was born and raised. When I became 18 years old, I graduated Ayos High School, a school that gave behavior challenged students a chance to graduate high school, even after Being released from their previous high school. After I graduated, I was accepted into Benedict college down in South Carolina where the climate is very hot and muggy. After going there for six years on and off I still didn’t graduate school was tough for me. Even though I was apart of the Benedict College Gospel Choir and was a music major, I still couldn’t get it together with my academics. Still, with not graduating, I finally realized that I was on journey to success. Some people would think I was a failure but with work I’ve managed to start my own business into songwriting for new upcoming artist and being my own artist as well as producer! I recently moved to Atlanta Georgia were music is thriving to the top. I recently working with new artist by the name of Kody Henry and also dropped a new single from my new mixtape “lover” called “lover”.

Which will be on all streaming platforms coming this next month! Also have transformed my body from weighing 375 pounds to weighing 280 pounds. I been on this journey for eight months and plan to lose weight for a whole year. My life has a lot of accomplishments as well as shortcomings but this journey I’m on is working to be the greatest. I am now producing my own records and writing my own songs for my new album coming next year! By next year I know that my look and my music will be ready for the music industry! See you soon! Prezent your gift.
Thanks!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Man a lot of the struggles we’re simply dealing with people, stress and having money. Being the only boy of 5 children with a single parent n the household from 14 all the way through college was hard, not really understanding what I was missing, and not understanding why or how my parents even got divorced. I guess things just weren’t working out. From this, I dealt with my own thoughts about women and relationships and went through a lot of pain and self-doubt with finding someone. Especially with how the women of today’s world feel about young African American men, I’ve met a lot of hurt women and also have been profiled to be what they call “not shit” My family still struggles financially but one day that will change! Also, me and my father weren’t close before but now we’re closer than ever. Plus finding myself was hard not confusing my mind body and spirit with each other and being strong from my failures!

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Well, I am my company. Me! What I do is Music. I produce records. And do it very well. What I specialize in is simply creating songwriting and making people happy with what I can do with music whether it’s mine or theirs. What I’m known for is songwriting and producing as well as vocal coaching.

What I am most proud of is when I can hear a record and know that is it finished.

What sets me apart from my peers or people is that I work with perseverance. And the knowledge that I have about creating music puts me in another place in music.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
What I’m looking for in the future is to be me still (Prezent) and to continue to make big records with A list artist, producing, songwriting, as well as featured. I also want to be an actor because I am a character and a comedian at times. I also want to find the right women for me. I might take some time but I know that I will treat her right and buy her whatever she wants! I also am planning to have all my records and music on all streaming platforms as well as music videos and performances coming soon!
