Meet Persiaa Tenai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Persiaa Tenai.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Persiaa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my career in the arts on the pool pit of my granddad’s church and then to theater at Lithia Springs High School where I join the Honors International Thespian Society graduating with honors in 2011 with two performing arts scholarships. Acting is my first passion but after high school I grew a love for radio, joining an online radio show called Boss Lady Radio that focused on the LGBT community and of course I focused on local artists. Attending Albany State University’s Mass Communication and Broadcasting program. In my broadcasting years, I had the pleasure of interviewing Sy Ai The Kid and Kila Ali. Shortly after college, I came back to Atlanta and began party/event promoting and the media marketing business. In 2013, I conducted a tour for an independent artist called Indie Tour 2013 that consisted of showcases, competitions and concerts for independent artists in Atlanta and the surrounding area. The competitions had the pleasure of having celebrity producer Metro Boom’n as a judge for our show in Columbus, GA. Also in 2013, I took my first step into a recording studio. All through high school, I wrote music and free-styled with friends but never recorded before but the whole school already saw an entertainer in me because of performing in plays and musicals.

In 2017, after taking a break from music, acting and marketing, I was blessed with an amazing little boy who inspired me to get back in the game. He gave me my creative energy back. Starting with targeting what was most popular in the world at the time which is social media, I began building my popular IG profile @__persiaa. I’ve used my social media profile for brand promotion in not just media but fashion, fitness, real estate and any other business in need of social media promotion as well as offering marketing package for email blast, website set up and city billboards.

As a business-minded person as well as a nurturing heart, I am in the process of opening my business UnityEntertainment, with the mission statement ” The Receipt to Making a Dream come true is Passion, Faith, and Unity !” My company focuses on taking any talent, from music artists and actors to tap dancers and whistleblowers. I want someone to feel comfortable with coming to my company with a dream and knowing that I will help the share it with the world and get paid from it. Using social media marketing, people skills and different utensils around the city that people notice every day that entertainers can use for promotion. My main goal is to think out of the box and accept talents that are outside of the box. Within Unity Entertainment is a record label Passion Records, using myself the first artist, I am a strong believer that I should be able to brand, market and break a deal with myself before offering any kind of packages to someone else. As an artist under Unity Entertainment, I released my first single “VYBES’ on November 13, 2019, that can be found on all streaming sites.

Following that single, is the build of my first EP coming in near 2020.

Because acting is my first passion and will never leave my heart, as an actress, I am premiering in an indie film here in Atlanta titled The Enemy of My Enemy premiering November 27, 2019. Also, in 2020, I will be in a new film titled The Lady in Blue.

While wearing all of these hats, I still manage to work a full-time job, be a full-time mom and attend school full time at SAE Institute for Digital Audio Engineering to amplify my music and the artist to come.

Has it been a smooth road?
Every road has its puddle. There was a big break for me between 2013 -2019 due to dealing with depression and understanding my anxiety. I was dealing with a mentally and emotionally abusing relationship that tried to take my life a turn. As a woman coming off strong in this industry, you can run into a lot of men that manipulate and even hate you. In the earlier parts of my career right out of college, I learn the appetite people in this industry. People are hungry and every dog is literally for themselves. I can’t even count on two hands how many events I ran but never received a dime or clout for. My motto is to help someone with something they love for free and the money will come later.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I specialize in lessening the headache people have when chasing dreams. I am known for helping talent get gig placements, I am known as an artist, actress and entrepreneur. What sets me apart from others is the faith I have to claim things in my future, the heart for the art rather than the urge for the wealth. Unique style and of course, unity. Bringing together different genres, different creative styles and using the uniqueness of the different talents associated with Unity Entertainment to add different sauce to another talents project that will complement the outcomes.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I most definitely feel like Atlanta is a good city to build a brand and/or business because of the curiosity of the locals here. I’ve noticed that here in Atlanta, whatever is making the most noise is what’s hot, not just what makes the most money. Also, here in Atlanta, we love things that are affordable so why not make professional great quality things for an affordable price. More for less really works here. Atlanta is all I know so I can’t even recommend any other city all though Los Angeles is one of the cities I hope to move to in the near future.
