Meet Yevgeniy Simanovich and Allena Lawson-DuBois of Night Owl Performance in Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yevgeniy Simanovich and Allena Lawson-DuBois.

Yevgeniy and Allena, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We as a business opened up in a small tucked away location just off of a main road joining Marietta and Woodstock. When we opened we only had 2 lifts and the very basic essentials for a shop. Now being 2+ years in, we have improved our shop by adding an in-ground DynoJet dyno, MIG and TIG welders, and several other pieces of equipment to be able to do the very best work. We also have progressed from having our open house at the beginning to having 4 events a year bringing upwards of 500 people per event. We have also sponsored Gridlife South at Road Atlanta and are preparing to partner with them this upcoming year.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been lucky enough to not run into any major hurdles as of yet. The road has not been smooth and the process has been an uphill struggle to get to where we are but, it has been worth it. We definitely underestimated the amount of time and dedication it would take to get it going and keep it running smoothly but, we believe we have done well at taking on the task.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are an automotive performance shop, we mainly specialize in aftermarket upgrades such as power adders and custom fabrication. We do anything and everything with cars. We build roll cages, install turbo kits, tune cars, and much more. We are known for our 2JZ-GTE motors and our experience with them. We are most proud of our meets and bringing the community together and being a part of sponsoring some of the biggest automotive events in the state. What sets us apart is out dedication to all of our customers and drivers. We do our best to attend every event that our drivers are attend to ensure that they have all the help they need. Our customers know that, should they ever need anything, we are always here for them.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been a hard worker and have always looked for any opportunity to get into something bigger and better. I have always been dedicated to what I’m doing and have always strived to excel and progress. I have always been into cars. I come from a family with some interest in cars, but not nearly as much as I do. Cars have been my life and main time / money consumer as long as I remember.
