Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrini Smith.

Gabrini, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was just tired of not having a complete social life as being a waiter, so I decided I needed to change. I contacted some of my friends that work in the construction business and asked if they needed any helpers. I was rotating areas with them so I could learn a bit of everything but end up specializing in tile and its secrets. After a while, I realize backsplashes wasn’t very welcomed in the business as it requires a lot more time and detailing in its installation and the price isn’t high as other tiling projects. Casa NOVA was created to be the backsplash design and installation reference in Atlanta, transforming a project that many times are ignored, into the most important tile project in the house.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t, however I was able to manage the obstacles gaining experience through it. The most difficult part was starting the business without having the customer’s trust. No one wants an unknown professional with not a lot of experience and referrals executing a project at your home. Many times, I wanted to give up and look for a job, but the fact that I had invested so much effort into to it forced me to hang on to it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Casa NOVA – what should we know?
Casa NOVA, meaning ‘New Home’ in Portuguese, was created to incorporate the feeling of an exquisite renovation everyone desires in their home. I am vastly experienced in many types of tiles such ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, marble, glass and mosaics. I am known for offering the finest vision of pattern designs along with a master execution. Our differential is exclusive techniques, attention to detail, and craftsmanship to not only bring the project the beauty it deserves, but also the cleanliness everyone expects along with an affordable price.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Respect is the most important hence we need it for everything. I respect my customer’s time, money, house, kids, expectations, privacy and I expect the same respect back.
