Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Saunders.
Joshua, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Drawing and bringing art to life has always been a passion of mine. I slowly drifted away from art while getting caught up in school, finding a job and entering into corporate America. While working full time, I received my MBA and thought to myself, what’s next?
A close friend of mine was mourning the loss of their family dog named Spike. I knew he was going through a hard time, so I decided it would be a nice gesture to draw a picture of Spike and give it to him as a gift. When I gave him the drawing, his eyes instantly lit up with happiness, Joy, loving memories and sadness. He let me know how much this gift meant to him and that he will cherish it forever. At that moment, my passion for creating art came back because I saw this as an opportunity to bring people happiness, joy and memories.
I have drawn family members, pets, sports, and special moments. It warms my heart to know I have been blessed with a gift I can share with others. I have the ability to serve others, which I believe is the ultimate goal in life.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I faced obstacles of finding myself and what I am meant to do. I have found that through my art. I always recommend to learn, grow and serve others.
Please tell us about your art.
I am an artist that specializes in colored pencil drawings. I draw sports action shots, family pets, portraits, and sceneries I am most proud of knowing my artwork brings many people joy. All of my drawings are unique and one of a kind.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as liking yourself, what you do, and how you do it. Success is knowing you did your best to become better than you were yesterday.
