Today we’d like to introduce you to Maranda Johnson.
Maranda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Seven Lux Cosmetics is a luxury cosmetic line based in Atlanta, Georgia founded in 2018. I was always inspired by top cosmetic lines like Mac, Milani Cosmetics, Smash Box, and Colour Pop and Kylie Cosmetic’s. I was always the girly girl out of all of my friends. My lips and eyebrows were always popping if that’s what you want to call it lol. My favorite feature has always been my lips since I was little. I remember playing in my moms make-up all the time getting in trouble for using her stuff. As I got older I’ve always bought the best lip glosses and lipsticks to maintain my obsession with cosmetics. It was always a dream of mine to start my own line and one day become a top brand like a few of my favorites. Seven Lux Cosmetics started out as just a lip gloss line in 2018 until I expanded my brand in 2019 adding more luxury goodies to my bag. I was amazed at how fast my business was growing with just selling lip gloss. I realized my dream was coming true faster than I expected. My business has since gone to expand into a full range of cosmetic products to make my dream a reality. I now offer a wide variety of lipgloss, lipsticks, lip liners, eyeshadow palettes, facial products and so much more. Ive worked hard to create a line of products that will make all individuals feel “Forever Gorgeous” when they wear my products. I’m currently working with labs to release some exciting new things soon.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was not all peaches and cream starting up my line. I’ve definitely had some hard times. I remember doing my research and testing out vendors for months, trying to find the best quality products like some of my favorites. It was starting to get frustrating because I was spending more money than I could actually afford at the time. I prayed and prayed every day asking God to send me the products I needed to launch my business, and he did just that. I finally found someone who had exactly what I needed. I told my boyfriend all about it and he said let’s do it. Thank God for him! He gave me the start up money to buy my first big order of products because I was completely wiped out after trying so many different vendors. The best decision I’ve ever made because business has been GREAT since I started!

Here at Seven Lux were most proud of the top quality products and customer service we offer world wide. What sets us apart from others is our unique black-owned brand bringing luxury to the world.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I definitely would research more before dishing out hundreds of dollars. I would also not buy so much product when testing out vendors. I found myself left with a lot of products I probably would never use.
