Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Lawrence.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chantel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out as an HHA, CNA, LPN, Owning a preschool of 49 kids and then the Army, and while serving, I obtain two bachelor’s degrees and without a break went straight for my master’s degree in Public Health. When I was transitioning from active duty, I had a surgery and I needed home health care assistant after my surgery. Many agencies that I reached out to for in-home care refused to provide the service to me simply because they did not want to deal with the VA for payment. This is when I decided to start my home health care agency and cater to the sick and elderly in their homes, especially elderly veterans.
Being a life coach is something I started out doing while I was in the military. As I transitioned back to civilian life, I realize it is my purpose and passion to always help others be the best version of themselves. So I got recertified as a life coach, and I just kept going and kept my “why” close to me at all times. Lol, Here I am today, An author, a life coach, a veteran, and a successful business owner. I love what I do and if I got a do-over, I would choose to do the same things I am currently doing, I would start a little earlier lol.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth road! What’s that? Lol, Not even the roads we drive on are smooth. In life, anything worth having is never an easy ride to achieve. The road to success is always under construction, and how you maneuver the roadblocks is what determines how successful you are or even if you are successful. But first, you must define what success is to you.
Some of the struggles I have faced along the way are Anxiety, depression, Lots of doors slammed in my face, racial discrimination, disorganization, unhealthy mindset, bad budgeting habits, unclear vision, lack of faith, and not knowing my worth or my own strength. For all these challenges is why I am a big advocate of self-care, personal development, healthy emotional and mental health. “To grow into your best self, you must first know yourself” Coach Chantel, this is my favorite quote.
Please tell us about the company.
I have three (3) Companies lol:
1. iamchantellawrence LLC this is my life coaching, authorship and women empowerment company.
2. Claytons Angels LLC is my home healthcare agency that caters to the sick and elderly in their homes.
3. VWAP-Veterans with a Purpose is my non-profit that raises awareness about the lack of care elderly veterans receive for home health care and raise funding to assist in bridging the gap of assistance from the VA to our elderly veterans.
I am a Transformation life coach, speaker, and a veteran. As a Transformation Life Coach, I am extremely passionate about bringing awareness to the issues and challenges that female veterans, women and their families face. This is done through my children’s literature, my self-development and financial literature and programs and individual coaching.
My aim is to help women live happily and purposefully. What I am most proud of as a company is that I am 100% in control, I am authentic and genuine and doesn’t have to be controlled by huge corporation hanging over my head and not being able to run my companies with its only and main goal, which is to improve the lives of others without hesitation. Now that’s what I call “Bossing UP” lol.
What sets me apart from others is my passion, my uniqueness, my intentional and strategic methods. As they say, don’t wait for an invite to someone else’s table, build your own table to sit at.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is staying aligned with my goals, ethics, morals, passion and purpose. Success to me is staying true to myself at all times and never forgetting my “why”. I do all this by practicing self-care or another term I love is “self-proofing” I am always working on me, I am no good to others if I am not my best self. I am always striving to be the best me. I am always a priority and at the top of my to-do list. Success is a marathon, not a sprint.🙂
