Meet Yasmine Bianca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Bianca.

Yasmine, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started when I was a little girl living in Annapolis, Maryland. My mother, Tarnese Chapman, owned a ten chair hair salon located on West Street in Annapolis. I was in the salon all day and night, curling and twirling hair on mannequins, watching and studying my mom. I watched her cut hair, perm hair, do those crazy asymmetric bob hair cuts on people, and those crazy up-dos daily. I was always her shampoo girl. I mixed up color, chemicals, and anything else she needed help with. This started as a child, and now as an adult, it still continues. The seed of hair, makeup, and cosmetic artistry was instilled in me from a young age. This is how I keep my mother’s legacy alive. I’m grateful I can share my gifts with the world and bless others. If I can make someone look and feel better by providing stylish accessories, high-quality weave extensions, and making wigs, then my heart is happy. I fell in love with YouTube about five years ago, when I posted my first video. YouTube is so much fun to me. It’s one of my passion projects.

I started my LLC in 2017, to include my YouTube. Yasmine Bianca Cosmetics, LLC was established here in Texas and is still a growing, small business. Every opportunity I get, I’m participating in a pop-up. My ultimate dream is to have a brick and mortar beauty bar (Yasmine Bianca’s Beauty Bar), where women and men can come and lounge, have a drink, purchase on hand hair extensions and accessories, and have a complete vibe. My vision is to have hairstylists, wig specialists, masseuses, make up artists, hair and nail specialists, wax specialists, the total package. One of my pet peeves is having to go to four different locations for all of your maintenance needs. Yasmine Bianca’s Beauty Bar will be a one stop shop for the professional, working woman who does not have time to wait.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
So far, it has been a smooth road. I haven’t run into unmanageable issues or risks that I deem as crippling the company. It’s been very beneficial tax-wise, and most of all it’s been fun. When it is your passion, you do anything to make it work for you. A personal struggle, though, is staying consistent when you have a full time job, family at home, church, and trying to maintain a social life. Whew-chile, now THAT is a struggle, LOL.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve learned so much during and throughout this process, and I’ve only refined and gotten better with time. Planting a seed is the first thing, watering it and letting it grow is another. Everything is a process, and with each process, you learn a lesson. You use that lesson for your next process, sharpening and refining you as you mature as a business person.
