Meet Patrice Landers and Bondine Leonard of Juice Me Too in Austell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Landers and Bondine Leonard.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Juice Me Too’s story is so down to earth and humbling. I’d been juicing for about two years with a small Jack Lalanne’s juicer that was gifted to me by my mother and partner, Bondine Leonard. In 2013, I began juicing for others in my kitchen and delivering to my neighbors, friends, working professionals, and senior citizens that resided in assisted living centers. As the demand for cold pressed juices grew, I began to work closer with my mother, who had been in the health and wellness industry for over thirty years. Through research and her knowledge, we created juices that offered medicinal and nutritional benefits to our growing clientele. Before securing a location, we tried many alternative options such as shared kitchens and partnering with business owners who were willing to rent out space for us, but the cost was way too high. Many of them wanted to profit from partnering with us, but the business profits weren’t even secured yet! Within three months, we knew that we had to have a physical location. I hit the pavement looking for a location. We knew nothing about commercial real estate, so we hired a real estate agent. I would shop for locations on my spare time and I’d call my real estate agent if I found something that was appealing. By June 2014, we secured Juice Me Too’s first physical location in the Brookwood Square Shopping Center. We were now on our way to meeting the nutritional needs of those who would become our customers. We’d like to acknowledge that our faith, hard work, determination, and the word of mouth by satisfied customers has got us to where we are now.

Has it been a smooth road?
Oh my goodness! I wouldn’t be telling the truth if I said that starting and running Juice Me Too has been a smooth road. We never expected it to be easy. We knew that it would be hard work, but we were always committed, passionate, and wanted to change the lives of those who were in need. The first two years of the business, we struggled with finding employees who were committed to Juice Me Too. It seemed like no one wanted to genuinely serve and they were only interested in a paycheck. Most of the work ended up falling all on my mother and me. We eventually became more intentional about hiring and made sure that our employees cherished and understood the purpose of Juice Me Too. We are glad to say that we have a team of employees that are just as passionate as we are about the business and are committed to the vision of the company. Another struggle that we face is directly related to our relationship with our customers. Being that we are located in the United States, the fast food culture is very hard to get away from. We find that many customers do not understand that we do not serve fast food; everything is made to order. We try to maintain the store as lively as possible keeping in mind that our customers are on the go, but some items require more time than others. We make everything with love and much care! It makes us happy to know that our customers are satisfied with their food.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Juice Me Too – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta, is such a beautiful city! What I like best about the city is that there is always something to do, from dining, museum attractions, sporting events, music entertainment, amusement parks and the list goes on. I would have to say what I like least is that I see a lot of homeless men, women & children in our city.
