Today we’d like to introduce you to Mack Lawrence.
Mack, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was always the guy who did mix-tape covers as a side hustle while working regular jobs. I had a friend who was getting ready to get a music video shot and I was intrigued by the thought of this art form. I asked him if he would give me a shot at it. Not having a professional camera or any equipment, I used my iPhone and winged it. After completing that video, people never stopped booking me. Now I travel the country doing something I fell in love with.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This is the most success I’ve ever experienced in my life after failing so many business’s in my past. This has come with a different set of challenges. My mind can always come up with ideas that are beyond my skill set leaving me dreaming bigger than what I can actually accomplish solely as an artist. But I get closer and closer every day and realistically will probably never reach a point of satisfaction.
Please tell us about your work.
I am a film maker specializing in music videos that break the barriers of what’s expected from a visual in today’s culture. My work puts a large emphasis on green screen and Visual Effects. I am the proudest of being able to be different and pave a unique lane while still be accepted in the music industry.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Passion and Drive. I’ve learned over the years you can’t teach this it is either in you or its not. My goal is not only to outwork the competition but also to outlearn them.
