Today we’d like to introduce you to Skylar Morgan.
I began woodworking a child with my family in Montana. It is a craft I have always excelled in and have always also had in interest in furniture design. My business was started 15 years ago, and is an intersection of these two passions. I have always had a love for modernism and design, and moved to Atlanta to fuel my business and offerings. Over the past 15 years, we have had the honor and pleasure of working with some of the most talented designers and architects, innovative business owners/chefs, and visionary brands. Today, our design studio creates custom pieces for restaurants, retail, hospitality, public, and residential; and also, a materials-driven furniture line.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been very fortunate. I will say the struggle is to work as hard as you can and endure. There have been many long days, nights, weekend, sweat, tears, excitement, and much joy along the way. Pushing ourselves creatively is something we always strive for, and continually challenge ourselves with learning new crafts and exploring new materials.

Skylar Morgan Furniture and Design makes handmade, clean-lined furnishings, millwork and architectural woodwork for homes and commercial spaces all over the American southeast and the world. We’re a manufacturing partner, a design studio, and a collaborative partner tuned to help you choose the right design and materials for your space. We’re also citizens and advocates of the South’s biggest city—contemporary, sustainable, playful and community-minded. We’re American-made and Atlanta-proud, and work to contribute to the everyday dialog of design that’s making the South a creative capital of the U.S.

What were you like growing up?
I was always adventurous and loved the outdoors. I always had an interest in architecture, how things were built and put together and used that to make things with my hands. The outcome of that was woodworking and furniture design. My best friend and I as young boys were always outside hiking, fishing, and playing. I attribute much of that to my creativity and success today. We were allowed to be free and be kids. There’s a lot to be said for that.
