Tra’Viseona, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hi Everyone! My name is Tra’Viseona. My personal IG is @vousbellejai, hence the nickname “Jai”. I attend Clark Atlanta University thriving to pursue my Bachelors’s in Biology. Biology? You’re probably wondering why I did not choose fashion merchandising or fashion retail. I’ve always had a keen sense of fashion and a vision to open a boutique. I grew up in Albany, GA, which isn’t known to have a big style scene. There were many times I’d plan ideas, but an obstacle always prevailed. There were always obstacles and bigger challenges along the way. My grandfather’s passing, self happiness and my drive to be a successful black girl have motivated me to start this business venture. I began this journey by ordering trendy pieces for myself and monitoring my social media audience for feedback. On December 10, 2019, I decided to create Vous Bella Boutique in his honor to express my gratitude for his guidance.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been a smooth road! I don’t think anything in life is smooth. My biggest struggle was starting Vous Bella Boutique, and believing in myself to continuously push through it all! Attending college full time, studying, working part-time and trying to manage a business can be difficult. However, the return is very rewarding. There are many days I become discouraged due to the fluctuation of sales, yet I continue to remind myself this is all a part of the dream. As a business owner, many challenges arise, which include finding vendors while accommodating the potential growth of customers. Vous Bella Boutique has been a learning process. However, I look to expand in the near future as it is currently online only (www.vousbellaboutique.com).

Please tell us about your business.
My keen sense of fashion-inspired vous Bella Boutique. The word “Vous” (pronounced voo) is French for you and “Bella” meaning beautiful. This phrase characterizes the boutique as the essence of inclusion. Vous Bella Boutique stands on the platform, “Your Fashion Defines You!” We offer women’s clothing (S-3X) with various options to cater to each unique personality. A satisfied customer is the best source of advertisement. Vous Bella Boutique is known for having an affordable trendy fashion that any college student or working professional can afford without breaking the bank. My proudest moment thus far is receiving orders nationally and internationally which let me know there are a lot of beautiful women out there that are recognizing Vous Bella Boutique.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future include opening a storefront in Atlanta, Georgia and my hometown (Albany, GA). I also plan to expand and eventually offer kid’s clothing to go with their unique personalities as well.
