Meet Teleza Elston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teleza Elston.

Teleza, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I go by Teleza E., and originally I’m from Philadelphia. I moved to Atlanta about two and a half years ago to further my career and lifestyle goals! Although I was still hustling and trying to meet career goals in Philly, I knew ATL was the place for me! Once I got here, I’ve seen, learned, and received opportunities that I’ve never did before! My strive and hustle mentality got me to where I am today, but trust and believe I’m nowhere close where I want to be! Another tactic that has helped me tremendously was just staying consistent, committed, focused, and promoting myself/brand!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy transition! When I drove 16 hrs here to Atlanta from my hometown, I was every bit of scared and broke! I had no place to live on my own (I stayed with relatives), no friends, and ultimately, no plan… but I KNEW what I wanted!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an aspiring hairstylist and I consider “myself” as my business/brand! I’m known best for my signature “ponytails” and “half up/downs”, but generally, I specialize in a lot of other styles as well!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was the girl who always wanted to make my peers and others around me happy! I was always the one the made everyone laugh but still shy as well, I know it’s weird! I also would go out my way just to make sure my FAMILY and friends were okay! Emphasizing on family because I’m very family-oriented and loyal to relatives or close loved ones.
