Meet Andrew Long of A. R. Long Company in Vinings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Long.

Andrew, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Georgia General Assembly Senate staff is where I mastered the legislative process, which afforded me opportunities to establish meaningful statewide relationships with elected officials and corporate leaders. Recruited to small new lobbying outfit led by titans in Georgia politics, where I learned the true art of lobbying, campaign influence and strategic government relations. Merged to large law firm with consulting arm where I became 3-down back, representing fortune 100s, global corporations and several clients with complex legislative issues to local, state and federal governments. Recently started A. R. Long Company, LLC, an independent firm focused on solution based executive consulting, global relationship development and innovative client experiences that deliver results.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
“O to struggle against great odds, to meet enemies undaunted!” (Whitman) It was truly difficult to leave the comfort of corporate America to venture out on my own. Principles learned from attaining an MBA are now being implemented in my small business everyday. In a space where you eat what you kill, I remain undaunted and work ever harder to achieve my short and long term goals.

A. R. Long Company – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
A. R. Long Company represents The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, The Atlanta Opera, Centrify (a global cyber security company) and Clark Atlanta University, among others. I am a lobbyist. I specialize in strategic relationship development which results in identifiable corporate solutions to help companies achieve their strategic goals. I am probably most known for my trust, my ability to engage anyone on earth and my signature bow tie. I am most proud of my daughter Carrington and my son August, who continue to excel academically and grow spiritually in part because of my decision to launch A. R. Long Company; giving me the flexibility to be a strong influence in their lives during these early impressionable years. As an African-American republican in the southeast region, I have a unique ability to gain the audience of government leaders of whom I have strong relationships with, while additionally holding the trust, respect and friendship of the great Democratic party. The cunning ability to effectively communicate with the Senate, the House, the Democrats and the Republicans sets me apart from other government relations firms.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The love of God, the love and leadership of my family in to the future and financial freedom to the point of generational wealth.
