Today we’d like to introduce you to Carter Sade’.
Carter, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, it goes a little something like this. Early on, I developed a passion for helping others. It was because of this that I went on to attend Old Dominion University, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and later, George Mason University, where I received my Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. Throughout my career, I have volunteered and worked for various service organizations. However, I wasn’t fulfilled and soon realized that I had been given multiple gifts and talents and I wanted to use them all.
In 2015 I launched the “Unashamed: This Is Me” blog where I aspired to inspire men and women via her own journey to LIVE their truths out LOUD; To stand in them, to own them, and to actively pursue purpose despite what their journey may look like to anyone else. Since then, this platform has evolved and allowed me to come from behind the keyboard (pen and notebook) and to use my voice as well.
In 2018 I decided it was time to put my connector skills to good use! I founded HeyNewFriends, LLC, which is a DC based social circle for women who are looking to cultivate lasting, resourceful, fun and rewarding relationships. Since its launch in July of 2018 the group has doubled in numbers and is only getting bigger and better.
In 2019, I really decided to jump out there. I knew that I wanted to get into media and entertainment and to begin building my career as a Host. So I auditioned for the Realish TV Talk Show, which is an Urban Entertainment and Cultural TV Talk show. They loved me and I am now 1/3 personalities.
As of recent, I’m continuing to indulge in things and experiences that bring me great joy. Last month (April 2020), I launched a Talk Show via YouTube entitled “Carter’s Table Talks”. The goal of this platform is to assist aspiring entrepreneurs on their paths to purpose by sharing tools, tips, success stories, and resources.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. I think that this is largely attributed to the fact that I chose to follow my “gut feeling” which I ultimately believe is God still voice communicating to me. Once I said yes to the desires of my heart everything started coming together. Although some days may be harder than others, the understanding that I’m on the path to really creating a life that I love makes it all worth it. My advice to young women who are starting their journey is to NEVER GIVE UP on your dreams and when people think you’re all over the place because you want to do so much, keep going and do it anyway. Don’t place limits on yourself. You can literally design the life that you want to live. Trust yourself, Trust God and Trust the process.

I am ultimately known for event hosting, being an influencer, building communities amongst strangers, curating events/experiences and for providing resources, connections, tools and tips to aspiring entrepreneurs. What sets me apart is my desire to really service my consumers via transparency. I have built an authentic relationship with my following. They know that I genuinely want them to win. I’m also very transparent about my own journey. They are aware of my wins as well as my “setbacks”. I share every moment in an attempt to inspire them to keep going as success is attainable for us all.
Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I don’t believe that there are any barriers. Times have changed, women are in positions of leadership within my industry.
