Today we’d like to introduce you to Prestys Blakely.
Thanks for sharing your story with us. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always had an appreciation for art and the different variations of its expression. My sudden urge to explore the creativity within me began during my college years. I modeled in several fashion shows on campus, and I also danced and choreographed pieces for, UDA, a dance team consisting of college students. Throughout those years, my most memorable moments were the annual Cleveland Cavaliers game performances. Performing in front of thousands of people was such an exhilarating feeling. While finishing up my last year, I was a mentor/hip-hop dance instructor with the YWCA for an empowering girls group with Elyria High School. Inspiring young girls and watching their talents develop is what giving back to the next generation is all about. What I gained personally from those moments in time, working collectively with a team to express our oneness in rhythm and movement to achieve a common goal, has yet to be matched.
All my life, I have been trained to push past boundaries and challenges faced with a sense of fearlessness because I possess the creative ability to change the outcome for my good. In 2018, I coincidentally developed a love for being in front of a camera, when I decided to do a photoshoot for my 25th birthday. I collaborated with friends of mine… Fashion Designer Jevon Terance , Makeup Artist MeLeighRose and Photographer NauticaTookThis. At the time, I was able to have fun with the shoot and set a firm foundation to later build upon for how I envisioned myself as a model. I was living in Ohio with plans of relocating to Atlanta to make my mark in the world. A new life endeavor to find my purpose would take only three months to finalize plans, take a leap of faith, and a marketing strategy for myself through various avenues of networking. I can honestly say, that moving to the ATL has definitely introduced me to diversified communities on so many levels. It’s pushed my mindset to hustle beyond any limitations placed on man and build towards my own personal goals and dreams.
Soon after my arrival, I connected with The Red Chair Photography Company (theredchairpc). I had the privilege of being selected for a photo shoot. Shortly after having a few different looks photographed that day, I was given the opportunity to become one of their “Leading Ladies”. As a Diamond Status Model, I am pleased to say I absolutely love the variety of our models, and the continual process of creating new content to showcase our talent. Bringing visions to fruition requires imagination and implementation, on my part. It is done by creatively learning how to channel my inner self into the role of a character I want to exhibit in image form. I’m still a work in progress, but I’m learning daily and that’s the key. To stretch and grow from every experience.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing in life is smooth sailing without the existence of waves, especially when on a path of discovering and fulfilling your goals and dreams. Taking something that was once seen as a hobby and turning it into something more lucrative, naturally will not come with ease. I understand the reality of winning and losing going hand in hand. Truth is, learning from today’s losses ultimately sets you up to becoming tomorrow’s winner. Every journey consist of trials and error, however focusing on the life lessons attached to the hardship is beneficial to overcoming difficulties. Balancing my life in every aspects while developing a new career path isn’t supposed to be a cakewalk. Thankfully, I am able to surround myself with a number of professionals within various industries who are willing to drop knowledge, inspire, and mentor me. Growth is inevitable but leveling up requires humility and gratitude, so I will always try my best to stay grounded and focus on what is to come.

Prestys Miéra is my personal brand. I live unapologetically in my truth and hope to inspire others. I am passionate about the arts and constantly seeking to invest in myself through the exploration of self awareness & expression. Those who know me realize dance is my first love as a creative with modeling to follow. To be transparent, all of my creations are therapeutic in some form and bring me great joy. Learning new skills that will add value to my personal brand as an individual is unavoidable. However, being creative and having a career as a woman are essential parts of my everyday life. I believe that my drive, divine favor and unique personality is what sets me apart from others.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Ultimately, I am constantly being inspired by others sharing their life experiences and stories. My goal as of now is to continue being the entity I am, while growing and remaining solid in sharing my brand to also inspire others. In this next decade, I want to capitalize on being an inspiration and reach the level of collaborating with other major brands ranging from personal, local, national and global standpoints. It may seem a bit broad, but success is subjective. Learning new skills, trades, meeting goals, and not being afraid of setbacks are all parts of my success package. The comeback will forever arise.
