Meet Stephanie Hay of The Hay Law Group in College Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Hay.

Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am an Atlanta native. Raised in Decatur, Georgia. I was eager to see the world beyond Decatur so upon graduating high school I left to attend Howard University and later Texas Southern University for law school. Although I’ve always had a love for the arts, music, television and film, I found that God hadn’t given me those natural talents. My desire to tap into the creative world was strong though and I knew I needed to find my place. After doing some research, I realized I could utilize my skills on the business side by becoming an attorney. Thus, shortly after graduating law school, I opened my entertainment law practice in Texas and soon after in Georgia. My practice is focused on helping creative entrepreneurs, artists, talent and influences navigate the business of their industry. Stepping out on faith has gotten me to where I am today.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges, has been setting myself apart and finding my own lane.

The Hay Law Group is a small firm specializing entertainment law, specifically music and television. I am most proud to still be standing and pursing my dreams as an entertainment lawyer years after many of my colleagues with the same dreams have moved on. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I am accessible and I’ve created a social media platform that’s more engaging than other’s in my field.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was quiet. Although I had a big personality, I was guarded to share myself with others. I enjoyed swimming, baking, and good TV.
