Kizzle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started rapping during incarceration.. just trying to tell a story and pass the time. When I came home and I decided to take it seriously. And it’s been blessings ever since.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a bumpy road… anything easy doesn’t last. It’s been TOUGH. Lost friends / loved ones, money challenges & even people in the way but thru it all, my team and I still seem to progress and overcome adversities.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Kizzle Crook is my business lol. I’m an artist. Not just a rapper, I can sing a little. What sets me apart is my work ethos and drive. I could get in the studio with the best of them and stand up. People know me for hard lyrics and my raspy voice. I’m most proud of the success we’ve gained as far as a fan base, actually finding people interested in Kizzle. I feel like I have the music, I just need more people to hear it.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like ATL is the best place for me to be. I’m from Baton Rouge where nobody gives you a shot you either take it or complacent. More stars, exposure and people willing to help. My advice to a New artist starting in Atlanta would be put yourself in position, surround yourself with stars, at the events, get yourself noticed for what you’re good at.
That’s 1000 times harder to do where I’m from.
